Chapter 480

Monty stood there, speechless, freaking out a bit inside. If she kept coming around more often, his precious treasures might be gone for good. He couldnโ€™t let that happen. He needed to find a better hiding spot for his stuff, and fast.

Calliope flashed them a smile and waved before heading off with the goodies sheโ€™d snagged from Montyโ€™s stash. She was in a pretty good mood, having left the Jewell family with their tails between their legs. Best part? Sheโ€™d nabbed all the things Monty held dear.

Oh, and sheโ€™d managed to snap a family photo with them, which was really just to get under Lisetteโ€™s skin. There wasnโ€™t any sentimental reason for it; it was purely for spite. Calliope planned on giving Lisette a taste of her own medicine for everything sheโ€™d done.

Lisette would be getting out soon, and when she did, sheโ€™d find the Jewell family had turned upside down, completely unrecognizable. Even her room had been turned into a storage closet. All those things sheโ€™d snatched and held onto? Gone.

Calliope could already picture Lisetteโ€™s face when she realized it. A smirk played on her lips. She planned on visiting the Jewell family regularly from now on, not just to annoy them, but to make sure they didnโ€™t change the room back. Satisfied, she drove away from the villa, her mood buoyant.

With Calliope gone, Monty and the others breathed a collective sigh of relief.

โ€œShould we change Lisetteโ€™s room back?โ€ Ulysses asked suddenly. โ€œShe might be upset if she sees it like this.โ€

โ€œDidnโ€™t you hear what Callie said?โ€ Monty said, rubbing his temples. โ€œShe said sheโ€™d be coming by often!โ€

โ€œShe never wanted to come before, now all of a sudden sheโ€™s planning frequent visits. Guess she thinks sheโ€™s got us all figured out!โ€ Zelda rolled her eyes. โ€œIf you ask me, youโ€™ve all been too nice to her, thatโ€™s why sheโ€™s like this!โ€

Horatio glanced at Zelda, โ€œMom, letโ€™s be honest, we havenโ€™t exactly been fair to Callie. Maybe cut her some slack?โ€

โ€œYeah, seriously, just stay out of it!โ€ Monty added.

โ€œHmph, if it wasnโ€™t for Horatioโ€™s legs, Lisette, and the company, I wouldnโ€™t want to see her either!โ€ Zelda snapped back.

Meanwhile, Calliope was cruising down the road, feeling pretty good. Silas had already called to check when sheโ€™d be home. She told him she was on her way. But then her mood shifted. Sheโ€™d noticed it almost as soon as she left the Jewellโ€™s placeโ€“a car had been tailing her.

At first, she figured it was just coincidence, but as she drove further, with no other cars around, it became clear. She slowed down, expecting the car to pass, but it didnโ€™t. It just kept following.

Her expression hardened.

โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong?โ€ Silas sensed her sudden silence and immediately asked.

โ€œI mentioned I was on my way back, right? Well, someoneโ€™s tailing me,โ€ Calliope said, her voice steady as she pushed the gas pedal. โ€œIโ€™ll have to call you back. I need to find out whoโ€™s following me.โ€

โ€œWhere are you?โ€ Silasโ€™s voice tightened with worry.

โ€œOn Seventh Avenue. Donโ€™t worry. Iโ€™ll take care of it and be back soon.โ€

With that, Calliope ended the call, determination etched on her face.
