Chapter 64
Then, she received a message from Wynton.
Wynton sent, โHey Calliope, Iโm here to vouch for Mr. Myers. He hasnโt done anything shady behind your back! Check this out, itโs what I saw today outside the Baker Group building! Your sister is really something else, trying to seduce your husband.โ
Calliope stared at the flurry of messages from Wynton, noticing the sign with Lisetteโs name on it.
Right there was Lisetteโs picture, clearly a screenshot from security footage.
The sign was boldly displayed at the entrance of the building, announcing to the world that Lisette was banned from entering.
Calliope could already imagine Lisetteโs face turning beet red with anger.
Wynton excitedly recounted the incident to Calliope. He explained how Lisette tried to seduce Silas, but Silas, being the epitome of integrity, not only resisted her advances but also kicked her out. To make an example out of her, he even placed the sign at the entrance.
Wynton declared that Silas really loved Calliope and Lisette had embarrassed herself beyond belief. No matter how good Lisetteโs reputation was before, from now on, she was just a desperate woman.
Calliope wasnโt quite sure who this Wynton was, but she found him amusing. She had just typed a quick thank you when Zeldaโs call came through.
Seeing Zeldaโs name flash on her phone, Calliope knew the news had already spread.
Sure enough, as soon as she answered, Zeldaโs irate voice filled her ears.
โCalliope, have you lost your mind? Do you want to ruin Lisette? She was just visiting Silas for some work-related discussion, and youโve turned it into this huge scandal? How could you be so venomous? Sheโs your sister, even though sheโs not blood related, but after all this time, isnโt there any bond between you two? Why canโt you cut her some slack? She is younger than you! As the older sister, donโt you know better? How did I end up with such a spiteful child like you?โ
Zelda berated her relentlessly over the phone. Calliope didnโt even get a chance to defend herself.
But she was used to it by now. Calmly, she held her phone away from her ear, completely tuning out Zeldaโs tirade.
Once Zelda had exhausted herself and quieted down, Calliope finally spoke, โZelda, are you done?โ
โWhat kind of attitude is that? Is this how you speak to your mother?โ Zelda was fuming.
โAnd what should I do? Call you โDearest Momโ after youโve just ripped into me? If youโre not disgusted, I sure am.โ
Calliope chuckled softly. โYou say Lisette is younger and I should give way to her, but youโre older than me by quite a bit. Do you ever cut me some slack?โ
โHow is that the same thing?โ Zelda was incredulous.
โIsnโt it?โ Calliope shrugged. โDo you even know what Lisette was up to at the Baker Group?โ
โWhat else would she be doing? She was obviously there for business!โ Zelda snapped back.
โBusiness? Dressed in that seductive attire? Or was it more like a sister trying to seduce her brother-in-law? Or are you backing her up in this too?โ
โCalliope, quit spewing nonsense!โ Zelda growled, โYou think Lisette is as awful as you? Sheโs not shameless like you!โ
