Chapter 94
How could it be her?
Yes, it was her. Gideon thought he must have gone mad, mistaking Yvette for Calliope.
Yvette looked at Gideon, her eyes red and damp. โGideon, you hurt me.โ
Gideon felt a wave of nausea as he looked at Yvette. He was on the verge of being sick. He dashed out of the room and into the living room, lighting cigarette after cigarette in a frenzy.
Yvette took a moment to pull herself together, clenching her fists with fury. Her eyes brimmed with resentment. She knew Gideon must have had a rough time with Calliope, so he treated her this way. Ultimately, it was all Calliopeโs fault.
After steadying herself, Yvette emerged from the room.
She knelt before Gideon, her voice choked with emotion. โGideon, whatโs wrong? Iโm sorry. Itโs my fault. I donโt know how to make you happy. If it makes you feel better, you can hurt me all you want. You know I care about you.โ
โIโm sorry, Yvette.โ Gideon covered his face in regret. โItโs my fault. Iโll take responsibility. Iโll marry you.โ
โGideon, Iโve said it before. As long as youโre happy, thatโs enough. You donโt have to take responsibility for me,โ Yvette replied. โI donโt mind at all.โ
โNo, I will.โ Gideon shook his head. โIโll take responsibility. Let me know when youโre free so I can introduce you to my family.โ
โIโm sorry. Take care of yourself. I have to go.โ
After that, Gideon left.
Yvette watched the door close, a smile curling her lips. No matter what, Gideon was willing to marry her. She had to share this good news with Lisette, who would undoubtedly be thrilled for her.
Calliope was in Silasโs arms when she woke up, still in the car.
โWhy didnโt you wake me?โ Calliope blinked in surprise. โDid I sleep for long?โ
โOnly about an hour,โ Damien joked from the front seat. โMy bossโs arm isnโt too numb, hopefully!โ
โDamien? Feeling bold lately, huh?โ Silas shot back coldly.
Damien promptly zipped his lips.
Calliope quickly pulled away from Silas. โWhy didnโt you wake me? Weโre home.โ
โYou looked exhausted and were sleeping so soundly. I wanted you to rest a bit more,โ Silas explained.
Calliope was at a loss for words. She glanced up at Silas. โWell, thatโs because of you!โ
โIndeed, thank you for your hard work, my dear.โ Silas grinned and pulled Calliope back into his embrace, whispering into her ear, โLast night, you said you were too tired and didnโt let me near you. Now that youโre well-rested, how about tonight?โ
His voice was husky, laced with a captivating allure.
Calliope felt his breath tickle her ear, causing her face to flush deep red. Silas was insatiable, wanting nothing more than to have her every night.
Though she enjoyed it, it was becoming a bit much. Her body felt drained. She hadnโt managed to get up before noon for days.
Before she knew it, Silas had scooped her up and carried her into the house. He helped her change her shoes and carried her upstairs.
He took her straight into the bathroom, shrugging off his jacket and unbuttoning his shirt.
โLetโs shower together.โ Silasโs eyes were intense, filled with a burning desire.
Calliope watched as he unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his impressive collarbone, chest, and chiseled abs.
His physique was flawless. She couldnโt help but gulp as she watched him.
Usually, she was too shy, and theyโd always turn off the lights when things got intimate. She had never had the chance to admire him like this.
Her cheeks flushed as she stared at Silas, embarrassed but unable to look away.
Calliope found herself staring at his abs, the muscles firm and appealing, making her curious about how they might feel.
Her gaze drifted lower, and she felt a sudden, overwhelming rush.
