Chapter 889
โIโm aiming to go big, to create a nationwide chainโnot just fooling around,โ Keira was about to share her grand vision with Lena when the doorbell rang. She walked toward the door, still holding the phone, and glanced at the monitor to see who it was. The sight made her pause.
โSomeoneโs here. Iโll call you back,โ Keira said to Lena.
โWho is it?โ she asked, curious.
โItโs Kylian!โ
Lena immediately recognized the name. โIs he here to see Hayden?โ
โHayden isnโt home.โ
After a brief pause, Lena speculated, โThen heโs probably here for you.โ
โThatโs what I think too,โ Keira replied. โCall me in a bit. If I donโt answer, assume heโs killed me and report it to the police.โ
Lena laughed. โPregnancy brain strikes again. If youโre that worried, why not call the police now and save yourself?โ
Keira chuckled. โNo, Iโll report this to Hayden first.โ
After hanging up, Keira sent Hayden a snapshot from the surveillance feed before opening the door.
โMr. Hart,โ Keira greeted him.
โSorry to drop by unannounced,โ Hayden said, his eyes subtly darting toward Keiraโs still-flat stomach. โIs Hayden home?โ
โIf he were, you wouldnโt have come,โ Keira replied bluntly, cutting through his pretense.
โHeh.โ Kylian didnโt get offendedโhe had the thick-skinned resilience of a rubber doll.
โWell, heโs not the easiest person to talk to, you know. When he gets serious, even as his older brother, I canโt get a word in edgewise,โ Kylian joked, his demeanor casual, devoid of the airs typical of a wealthy heir.
Though Keira had seen him play the role of a polished gentleman before, he could wear that mask convincingly when it suited him.
โCome in and have a seat. Would you like some water?โ Keira asked politely.
โIโd love some water, but tea would be even better if you donโt mind,โ he replied, completely at ease, as if he were visiting an old friend.
Chapter 889
As Keira prepared the tea, Kylian took the opportunity to glance around the house. โThis is your place, right?โ
โYes,โ Keira replied, bringing the tea to him.
He accepted it with both hands. โThank you.โ
โThis layout is nice, but itโs not ideal for a married couple,โ he commented after a sip of tea. โKeira, youโre Haydenโs wife, so weโre family. I hope you donโt mind me speaking frankly.โ
โMr. Hart, youโre into feng shui?โ Keira asked, catching on to the direction of his remarks.
โI have a bit of interest in it and even studied under a master for a while,โ Kylian said, gesturing toward her bedroom. โFor instance, your master bedroom faces the southwestโitโs what we call the Fire Door. Living here long-term could lead to disharmony between a couple, causing frequent arguments. Itโs also unfavorable for the womanโs career.โ
Keira nodded, pretending to take his words seriously.
โAnd your kitchen is in the northwest. Thatโs the Fire Burning Heaven Gate, which hinders the manโs career development. Not to mention the bathroomโฆโ
He went on and on, essentially declaring her home uninhabitable.
Keira listened patiently, but she wasnโt one to take such things to heart. A homeโs comfort mattered more to her than rigidly following ancient rules.
โBased on what youโre saying, I need to find a new place to live. Got any recommendations?โ Keira teased.
Kylian laughed. โDonโt get me wrong, Keira. Iโm not here to sell real estate.โ
His words reminded her that he owned a real estate company.
โYou and Hayden should return to the Hart family estate. There are plenty of properties there, all designed to bring prosperity, harmony, and blessings for future generations,โ he finally revealed the real reason for his visit, smiling as he spoke.
