Chapter 934

Keira woke naturally, without anyone disturbing her. She wondered if she might be the first bride ever to enjoy such a luxury. When she stepped out of the bedroom, she was greeted by two makeup artists waiting patiently for her. Lena was already awake and waved at her with a cheeky smile.

โ€œHi, goodโ€ฆ good morning!โ€ she said, stumbling over her words. She probably almost said โ€œHappy wedding dayโ€ but changed it at the last second.

โ€œGood morning to you too,โ€ Keira replied, feigning ignorance. She yawned and asked innocently, โ€œWho are these lovely ladies?โ€

โ€œYour makeup artists! Today is yourโ€ฆ special day. Youโ€™re the center of attention, so you have to look stunning!โ€ Lena stammered, clearly trying to keep the secret.

Even now, she was still playing along. Keira had to admire her dedication. But she didnโ€™t let on. She was curious to see how Lena would explain things when it came time for her to change into a wedding dress.

Keira nodded casually. โ€œAlright, Iโ€™ll go wash up first.โ€

In the bathroom, she stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her hand drifted to her highly rounded belly as she spoke softly, โ€œBaby, your daddy is marrying mommy todayโ€ฆ soon, weโ€™ll have a home again.โ€

Ever since she left the Johnston family, something inside her felt incomplete. Even with Hayden by her side, the emptiness lingered. She knew it was because she didnโ€™t have a home of her own. Houses didnโ€™t make a home. A home was where someone loved you, where a light was always on, waiting for your return.

She lost her parents and her home over a decade ago. The Johnston family gave her a place to belong for a while, but it didnโ€™t last. Now, finally, she was about to have a real home again.

Outside the bathroom, she overheard Lena on the phone.

โ€œYes, I knowโ€ฆ I didnโ€™t wake her. Sheโ€™s in the bathroom now. Alright, Iโ€™ll bring her over soonโ€ฆ Donโ€™t worry, President Hart. Your wife-to-be will be delivered to you safe and sound.โ€

Hearing that made Keira smile. That was Hayden โ€“ always thinking of her, no matter where he was.

โ€œKeira, youโ€™re going to be okay. More than okay.โ€ She silently wished herself happiness.

When she came out of the bathroom, Lena handed her a glass of water. โ€œYour tea, Princess.โ€

โ€œThank you,โ€ Keira said, taking a sip as she sat down in front of the vanity. The makeup artists immediately got to work, carefully crafting her look.

An hour later, she barely recognized herself. She looked stunning, as if someone had waved a magic wand over her. She recalled a popular saying online: โ€œA woman should always dress her best and love herself fiercely.โ€

โ€œIf Iโ€™d known I was going to look this good, I shouldโ€™ve bought a fancy dress,โ€ Keira said slyly, aiming the comment at Lena.

โ€œYour Hayden has it covered โ€“ and itโ€™s something truly unique,โ€ Lena replied, her eyes fixed on Keira.

In her gaze, Keira saw amazement and envy. Not envy of her makeup or her beauty, but of her happiness.

โ€œHow unique? Is itโ€ฆ a wedding dress?โ€ Keira teased, finally breaking the charade.

โ€œAs expected of clever little Rea! I told him youโ€™d figure it out. Hayden was so insistent on surprising you, but youโ€™ve already guessed everything. Whatโ€™s the point now?โ€ Lena lamented dramatically.

โ€œIโ€™m still surprised,โ€ Keira said truthfully. โ€œI thought the wedding would be after the baby was born.โ€

That was genuinely what she had believed. She always knew Hayden would give her a wedding, but she hadnโ€™t expected it to be this soon.
