Chapter 993

Just as Lena was about to breathe a sigh of relief, she heard Aaron say, โ€œNo need. Iโ€™ll do it later.โ€

Lena: โ€ฆ What the hell do you mean, later? Just let her take the damn laundry so I can leave!

โ€œAaron, can I take a look at this plant?โ€ Xandra asked casually, but before waiting for a response, she was already walking toward the curtainโ€”toward Lena. The plant was right next to where Lena was hiding. With the bright reflection of the snow outside, if Xandra so much as turned her head slightly, sheโ€™d definitely spot her.

I knew I shouldnโ€™t have hidden here! But where else could she have gone? Aaron was a minimalistโ€”his entire home was pristine, with no unnecessary clutter. Everything was neatly tucked away in cabinets, leaving nowhere to hide. The truth was, she shouldnโ€™t even be here.

Lena held her breath, silently praying that Xandra would just glance at the plant and move on. But, of course, the more she wished something wouldnโ€™t happen, the more likely it did.

โ€œThis plant isnโ€™t doing well,โ€ Xandra suddenly commented, her voice laced with expertise. โ€œSee the black spots on the tips of the leaves? Thatโ€™s a sign of over-fertilization. If you donโ€™t treat it, the whole thing could end up covered in blackened leaves, which would ruin its appearance.โ€

Only then did Lena rememberโ€”Xandra was a biology researcher.

โ€œHow do I fix it?โ€ Aaron asked, his voice calm, as if he was genuinely interested.

โ€œThis is easy. I can take care of it for you right now.โ€ Xandra was already rolling up her sleeves.

Oh, hell no. If she started tending to the plant right here, right next to the curtain, Lena might as well just die now.

Thankfully, Aaron finally did one thing to save her. โ€œNot today,โ€ he said. โ€œSome other time.โ€

Lena almost let out a relieved sigh. But just as she relaxed, she heard Xandra say, โ€œIs this curtain from Italyโ€™s Bโ€ฆ Brand?โ€ Her voice was soft, but she was standing right in front of the curtain.

Lena could literally feel her breath seeping through the fabric. This woman knows everything, doesnโ€™t she?!

Chapter 993

โ€œYes,โ€ Aaron replied, stepping closer. โ€œIโ€™m surprised you recognize it.โ€ Now both of them were standing right outside the curtain. Lena was hiding inside. This was literally like waiting to get caught red-handed.

Lena wanted to scream. And she was certain that Aaron was doing this on purpose. Xandra didnโ€™t know she was here. But he did. The washing machine had already exposed her. Yet, instead of helping her escape, he was just standing there, playing along with his new girlfriend.

Aaronโ€”just you wait! When I get out of here, Iโ€™m settling this score. And after that? Weโ€™re done. You and I completely done!

If he wasnโ€™t going to help her, fine. But was he actually trying to embarrass her? Was he waiting for her to be exposed, to let Xandra find her in this outfit, just so sheโ€™d look bad? No matter how she looked at it, it was cruel.

As Lena was fuming internally, she suddenly felt the curtain shift. Xandra had reached out and pinched a corner of the fabric. โ€œThe GC curtains are practically priceless. I didnโ€™t expect you to go all out and install a full set,โ€ she said with admiration.

Lena nearly rolled her eyes. Well, duh. What was he supposed to do? Install half a curtain? But before she could mentally curse the situation any further, Xandraโ€™s next words sent her entire soul into free fall.

Lena: โ€ฆ OH HELL NO. Sheโ€™s going to pull back the curtain. Sheโ€™s going to see me. There is NO ESCAPE.

Chapter 993

And thenโ€” โ€œSure.โ€ Aaron actually agreed.

Lena shut her eyes. She had no words. No strength. No dignity left. This was, without a doubt, the most humiliating moment of her entire life.
