Chapter 186

Rosie and the Woman's Fight

It was chaotic—hair pulling, face scratching, a furious struggle. Sienna was startled and moved to intervene, but Josiah grabbed her arm. "What are you going to do? This is her personal business. Are you sure she wants your involvement?" Stenna hesitated.

Suddenly, a man rushed forward, pulling Rosie away. His handsome face was a mixture of anger and sarcasm. "Let her go, Rosie! Don't you feel any shame? You're acting like a drama queen."

Rosie, eyes red and hair disheveled, glared at him. "Daniel Hunter. How long are you going to keep doing this?" Pointing at the woman beside him, she shouted, "Another one? This one is old enough to be your mother!"

"Who are you talking about!" The woman, enraged, slapped Rosie hard. "Old enough to be my mother! This slap is meant to teach you to watch your mouth!"

The slap was strong, making Rosie's head snap to the side. Daniel frowned, about to speak, when Rosie broke free and lunged at the woman. "Didn't get enough before, huh?" she sneered, grabbing the woman's hair.

The woman screamed. Daniel quickly restrained Rosie. "Stop it."

"Trying to hit me again, huh?" the woman smirked, surveying Rosie with disdain. "Sure, you're young, but so what? If you can't keep a man, it's pointless."

Sienna, unable to stand it, tried to intervene, but Josiah held her back. "Let go," Sienna insisted angrily. "Can't you see? They're bullying Rosie."

"Bullying?" Josiah raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile playing on his lips. He pointed at Daniel. "His name's Daniel Hunter."

Sienna was stunned. "You know him?"

"Sort of, but not well. I've worked with the Hunter family. Daniel's married," Josiah replied. He'd attended the wedding, but hadn't paid much attention to those unrelated to him.

Sienna was dumbfounded. Daniel married? Does that mean Rosie…?

Josiah continued, "People say he doesn't have the best reputation regarding his personal life." He was known for his indiscretions, even after marrying.

Josiah sighed. "Does your friend even know he has a wife? If she knows and still gets involved with him, then she's asking for trouble."

This was overwhelming for Sienna, but the immediate problem demanded her attention. She spotted a flower bed with a brick border in front of Soup Howls, grabbed a brick, and headed toward Rosie.

"Sienna!" Josiah was shocked, remembering the time Sienna had used a brick in self-defense. He quickly followed her.

At the hotel entrance, Sienna slammed the brick against the doorpost, shouting, "Stop it!"

The noise silenced them all. "Sienna," Rosie said, her eyes even redder. Daniel looked at Sienna. "Is that your—"

"Why are you asking?" Sienna held the brick aloft, her eyes blazing. "Let her go. I dare you to touch her again." She pulled the older woman closer. "Guess if this brick is just for show?"

The woman was momentarily stunned, then laughed. "Who are you trying to intimidate? Do you really think I'm that easy to scare?"

"She's not trying to scare you," Josiah said, stepping forward. He glanced at Daniel, then at the woman. Softly, he said, "Don't doubt it. My wife really will use force."

"My wife? Has he forgotten we're divorced?" Sienna was surprised.

Josiah smiled warmly. "Does the brick hurt your hand? Do you want me to help?"

Sienna frowned. "I can handle it myself."

The older woman fell silent. Daniel, recognizing Josiah, looked between Sienna and Rosie, surprised Rosie knew Josiah's wife. He didn't dare offend Josiah but couldn't back down. With a stiff expression and an awkward grin, he said, "Mr. Flynn, this is my personal matter. There's no need for your involvement, right? Besides, she struck first." He released Rosie.

Rosie stumbled back. Sienna quickly steadied her. Josiah took the brick from Sienna, relieved she wouldn't get hurt, and glared at Daniel. "Aren't you leaving yet?"

Daniel, momentarily stunned, looked at Rosie. "Mr. Flynn, I'm out of here." He turned to the woman. "Wait for me." The woman linked arms with him, and they walked away.

Josiah shook his head in disdain. While Daniel's behavior was common, Josiah disrespected it. Rosie glared at Daniel's retreating figure.

Sienna supported Rosie. "Do you need to go to the hospital?"

"No need," Rosie said sadly. "They were just minor wounds." A hospital could mend her physical wounds, but not her heart.

"Let's take you home then," Sienna offered gently.

Rosie nodded. "Alright, thank you."

"You're welcome," Sienna smiled.

Josiah drove them to City Pearl. Sienna went inside with Rosie while Josiah waited. Sienna tended to Rosie's wounds and, after hesitating, said, "I shouldn't meddle, but Josiah said Daniel is married…"
