Chapter 34

Sienna frowned, enduring extreme discomfort. "Josiah, you might have delusions. I don't know anything; I came when Miranda told me to. I may not be the strongest person, but I said I wouldn't bother you, and I won't!" She turned angrily and swept away.

"Sienna, where are you going?" Josiah stared deeply at her retreating figure, laughed in anger, and felt a tightness in his chest for a few seconds. "If you want to leave, fine! I won't care about you ever again!"

Sienna, standing where she had just exited the car, was dumbfounded. There was no village in front, no shop behind. Then, a black Cayenne stopped before her. The window rolled down. "Sienna."

Sienna saw it was Yosef, whom she had met a few days ago. The Fu and Qin families had always had business dealings, so his presence wasn't strange.

"Mr. Compton," Sienna greeted.

Hearing this title, Yosef was amused. "Why call me Mr. Compton? Just call me by my name."

Sienna touched her hair. "Yosef."

"That's right." Yosef was satisfied. "There are no buses back at this time; what are you doing here?"

Before she could answer, he added, "Get in the car."

"Well, thank you." Sienna didn't refuse and got into his car.

In the car, she told him the whole story. She was annoyed. "I should have sent the documents earlier instead of staying with Miranda that afternoon."

Yosef understood immediately, fearing this was deliberately orchestrated by Miranda. He glanced at the girl beside him and teased, "Is that really it? Don't you want to stay and have a chance to reconcile with Josiah? Maybe you can…"

Sienna was taken aback and bitterly pulled at the corners of her lips. Given how she had dominated Josiah in the past, and his lack of understanding of her circumstances over the years, his assumption was understandable.

Sienna sighed. "That was me in the past; it's all over. Besides… he and I, we never had 'good old times.' So, there's no talk of reconciliation."

Hearing this, Yosef fell silent, looking at the quiet girl in the rearview mirror. She really was very different from before.

Back at the hotel, it was already past six. Yosef looked down and asked Sienna, "Are you hungry? Let's eat something. By the way, I'm hungry too, and I have to be busy later. Come on, eat with me."

"Okay," Sienna said.

The two went to the restaurant together, and Yosef ordered the meal. He urged Sienna, "Eat quickly."

"Thank you, Yosef." She was truly hungry, and the afternoon snacks were long gone.

While eating, Yosef's phone never stopped. He was here on business, which was inevitable. He hung up one call, and another came in. "Yes, it's me." The other end said something, and Yosef frowned and stood up. "Really? Wait, let me check…"

He seemed to have something urgent. He took his phone and said to Sienna in a hurry, "I have to deal with something; you eat slowly." He also pointed to his share. "If you like it, you can eat it all, just don't overeat."

Before he finished speaking, Yosef hurried away. Perhaps because he was Josiah's friend, Sienna felt more at ease in his absence, and her appetite was wide open. After finishing her drink, she saw…

Chapter 31

It looked like water. She thought so and drank it as water, pouring down several mouthfuls, but was choked.

"What is this?" Sienna's face wrinkled as she stuck out her tongue. "So spicy, so spicy!"

It turned out to be a glass of spirits. She would continue to eat her share, and she dared not touch Yosef's.

After eating, Sienna's head was a bit dizzy, and her cheeks flushed. The spirits had gone to her head. She also realized, with difficulty, "What should I do tonight?" This is a hotel; does she have the money to open a room here? That's not possible; even the cheapest one is several hundred, and she definitely won't pay for it. She picked up her bag and went to the lobby.

In the lobby's rest area, there were sofas. Sienna sat on one, planning to spend the night there. When she was in Flinty, she worked night shifts at the supermarket, staying up all night—no problem.

However, she underestimated the power of those few sips of spirits. Her head was getting more and more dizzy, her eyelids getting heavier and heavier. Her body tilted, leaning on the sofa, dozing off. But because her heart was beating too fast, she couldn't really fall asleep.

Sienna's head was dizzy, and she sneezed. Yarrowdale belongs to the mountain area, and it's still quite cold at night. She slept there and couldn't…

After the meeting, Josiah and Yosef returned together, stepped into the lobby, and heard a series of sneezes. The two looked over together and saw Sienna lying on the sofa. Yosef spoke first. "Damn, I forgot about Sienna when I was busy." He took the lead.

"What's going on!" Josiah frowned and quickly grabbed him. "Didn't she go back? What do you mean you forgot her? You have the nerve to say that?" Yosef thought his brother hadn't handled this well. "She came to deliver the documents for you, and you didn't know there was no car? Let the little girl go back by herself?"

Josiah pulled at the corners of his lips. "She said she wanted to leave by herself, trying not to pester me, and she couldn't stay."

Yosef laughed angrily and shook his head. "You can rest assured, in my opinion, she will not pester you again." He was about to go over.

Josiah pulled him away. "What's it to you?"

Yosef shouted, "Aren't you taking care of it?" Josiah left out the sentence, "She said, she ran away by herself," and went straight to the sofa area. Yosef hurriedly followed. "He needs to be nice to her! After all, she's a girl."

When he arrived at the sofa area, Josiah stood in front of Sienna. Sienna was wiping her nose with a tissue, and her nose was a bit red. She noticed someone in front of her and raised her head. She blinked her eyes and looked very serious.

"Cough, what are you looking at?" Josiah was inexplicably a little embarrassed. "Aren't you capable? Didn't you say you wouldn't pester me? Why are you still here?"

Sienna pouted and didn't speak, looking very aggrieved. Josiah smelled the scent on her and suddenly became alert. "Sienna, have you been drinking?" He squatted down to keep the same height as her face. In this way, the smell of alcohol was clearer.

Suddenly, Sienna smiled at him, raised her hand, and gestured. "A little bit, just a little bit…"

In an instant, Josiah's breath was suffocated. His eyes were full of her smile. This smile was like a thousand arrows through the heart, and like…
