Chapter 372

By the time Hervey arrived, Miranda was still in the emergency room. "Mr. Howard Flynn, we didn't find anything useful," he reported.

Hervey spoke straightforwardly. "The paper is ordinary, readily available. No fingerprints. The sender used a courier drop-off, not a pickup."

"I checked the courier's surveillance footage. The sender wore a mask, gloves, and a hat. Their face is completely obscured," he concluded.

Josiah and Howard exchanged a worried look. After a brief silence, Josiah clenched his fists, anger flaring. "It was Andy!"

No one else would do this.

Howard remained silent, but he couldn't dismiss the possibility. Andy had been pressing Josiah to reconcile with the Evans family.

Howard asked, "Is he pressuring you?"

"Pressuring?" Josiah scoffed bitterly. "This is a threat!"

If the truth about his parentage emerged, he would be cast out by the Flynn family. His only recourse would be returning to the Evans family.

The emergency room door opened, and the doctor emerged. Howard and Josiah rushed over. "How is my grandmother?"

"Don't worry," the doctor reassured them. "She was overwhelmed emotionally, but she arrived in time. Nothing serious, just weakness and a need for rest. Her heart condition requires emotional stability."

"Thank you," Howard said softly. "Can we see her?"

"Of course," the doctor replied.

Miranda was in a regular ward. Howard and Josiah stood at her bedside. "Grandmaโ€ฆ"

"Get out!" Before Howard could speak, Miranda's eyes snapped shut, her face contorted. It was clearly directed at Josiah.

Howard frowned. "Grandmaโ€ฆ"

Josiah interjected, pale and shaking his head slightly. He glanced at Miranda. "Grandma, please rest. I'll go now."

He left without another word.

"Grandma!" Howard sighed, feeling sorry for Josiah but unwilling to upset Miranda further. "Rest. I'll stay."

"Get out!" Miranda glared at Howard. "Both of you, get out!"

"Grandma," Howard tried again.

Miranda said, "Get out! Can't you understand me?"

Seeing Miranda's agitation, Howard nodded quickly. "I'm leaving. Don't get upset."

Both were ejected from the ward. Josiah, fuming, turned to leave.

"Josiah!" Howard grabbed his arm. "Where are you going? You're going to find Andy, aren't you?"

Josiah didn't answer, his silence confirming it.

Howard said, "What are you going to do? What's the point?"

"...and make him stop this nonsense!" Josiah yanked his arm free and stormed off.

"Josiah!" Unable to stop him, Howard immediately instructed Hervey, "Tell Zach to follow him."

Hervey nodded. "Sure."

Josiah arrived at the Evans residence in Clearsay Estates, furious. He expected a confrontation with Andy, but the house was quiet.

The butler said, "Mr. Evans is abroad. He left a few days ago and hasn't returned."

Josiah didn't believe him. "Are you lying? Is he too scared to face me?"

"You misunderstand," the butler replied. "The house is open to you. Mr. Evans instructed us to allow you entry." He gestured for Josiah to enter.

Josiah hesitated, then went inside. The silence confirmed Andy's absence. Josiah snarled, his rage building. He had nowhere to vent his anger.

He thought, Is he hiding? Fine. Andy Evans is behind all of this.

Josiah's eyes were bloodshot as he glared at the butler. "Tell Andy his dreams are over. No matter what, I will never return to the Evans family."

Yvette and Sienna arrived at the hospital. They had been informed about Miranda's collapse.

Yvette, already at the hospital, arrived first, in a wheelchair. "What happened? How is she?"

"She's fine," Howard replied, his expression serious. "Grandma found out about Josiah's real identity."

Yvette froze. "How is that possible?"

Howard explained about the package. "We don't know who sent it, but Josiah went to investigate."

Yvette said, "I'll check on her."

Howard nodded.

Sienna arrived later, encountering Yvette as she left.

Miranda was asleep after taking medication. Sienna found Howard waiting outside.

He reassured her. "Don't worry. The doctor said nothing serious. You've seen her, go home. I'll have someone take you."

Sienna said, "Thanks, Howard."

Heading to the elevator, Sienna saw Yvette. Yvette smirked, tightening her grip on the wheelchair handle.

Howard's words echoed in her mind: "Grandma found out about Josiah's real identity." Once Miranda learned the truth, Josiah wouldn't focus on marrying Sienna.

Yvette felt a burden lift. Her smile softened. "Sienna, I've been waiting to tell you something."

Sienna sensed something was wrong. "What?"

Yvette smiled coldly. "I confessed to Josiah. I told him I want him." Sienna's eyes widened.

"Surprised?" Yvette raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you sense my feelings? Last time, I said it was a joke, and Josiah believed me. But you didn't, did you?"

Sienna laughed, disgusted by Yvette's openness.

Yvette frowned at Sienna's disdain. "I'm not competing. If you were sincere, I wouldn't have to do this. I wouldn't have to take him away."

"Josiah deserves someone who loves him completely," Yvette added.

Disgust welled in Sienna, but she remained calm. "You make 'homewrecker' sound soโ€ฆdecent."

Yvette was taken aback. "How dare you?"

"Enough," Sienna waved dismissively. "Since you're confident, good luck."

Sienna entered the elevator, cold and indifferent.

"Just wait and see," Yvette called out. "Josiah will never marry you! He'll choose me!"
