Chapter 374
โGrandma!โ Howard frowned furiously. โYou canโt say that to Josiah! He hasnโt wanted anything from the Flynn family. If he were that kind of person, when I was in a coma for four years, he could have taken over everything!โ
For four years, Josiah had tirelessly managed the Flynn familyโs affairs. To the outside world, he was the powerful head of the family; in reality, he was a loyal member.
โHe truly sees us as familyโhe sees you as his grandmother and me as his older brother! Your words were too harsh,โ Howard said.
Miranda was stunned, speechless. She sobbed, covering her eyes. โWhat do you want me to do? Just thinking about Josiah being gone and someone replacing him hurts so much!โ
Chasing after Josiah was pointless. Howard left the ward and tried calling him, but Josiahโs phone was off. His phone never went unreachable; heโd clearly turned it off himself.
โHervey!โ Howard called, raising his hand.
โYes, Mr. Howard Flynn,โ Hervey responded, approaching quickly.
Howard said, โCall Zach, Chester, and James. Find Josiah, and make sure to track him down!โ
โUnderstood,โ Hervey nodded sharply and hurried off.
โWhatโs going on?โ Yvette arrived to visit Miranda and immediately sensed something was wrong.
โWhat happened? Is Miranda okay?โ she asked.
โNo,โ Howard shook his head, sighing heavily. โGrandma drove Josiah away, and now I canโt reach him.โ
โWhat?โ Yvette was shocked. โHowโฆ?โ
She had her frustrations with Miranda, but after glancing at Howard, she swallowed her words, silently complaining. Miranda is so cruel. Even though Josiah wasnโt biologically part of the Flynn family, he was raised by them. Over these years, heโd stuck by the family, creating immense value. Wasnโt that worth something? If it werenโt for Josiah during those years Howard was in a coma, the Flynn family would have been finished. And now, Miranda couldnโt even appreciate itโshe turned her back without a second thought!
โDonโt worry,โ Howard said, trying to calm Yvette, mindful of her health. โIโve already sent Hervey and Zach to look for him.โ He paused. โDo you think thereโs anywhere Josiah might have gone?โ
Yvette frowned, thinking for a moment. Then, hesitantly, โWhat about Sienna? Have you checked with her?โ
Howardโs eyes lit up. โRight, I forgot about Sienna. Youโre sharp as always. Iโll call her now.โ
He immediately called Sienna, but no one answered.
Yvette glanced at her watch. โSheโs probably filming. Josiah might have gone to find her.โ
โWhereโs the set you were at recently?โ Howard asked.
โBie,โ Yvette replied.
Howard nodded, putting his phone away. โIโll head to the set to find her. You should go in and keep Grandma company.โ
Yvette nodded. โCall as soon as you have news.โ
Howard nodded. โI will.โ
7:40 AM
Howard hurried to the set and found Sienna.
โHoward?โ Sienna said, surprised. โWhat are you doing here? Is something wrong? Is it Miranda?โ
โNo,โ Howard quickly shook his head. โDonโt worry, Grandmaโs fine.โ
โThen whatโs going on?โ she asked.
Seeing her reaction, Howard knew, but still asked, โJosiah didnโt come to see you, did he?โ
โJosiah?โ Sienna didnโt understand. โHe came to find me this morning. After he dropped me off at the set, he left.โ
Josiah wasnโt there. Howardโs heart sank. โSienna, if Josiah comes looking for you, can you let me know?โ
Sienna was puzzled. โCanโt reach him, Howard?โ
Howard nodded, his eyes shadowed with worry.
โHoward,โ Sienna hesitated, concern growing. โHas something happened to Josiah?โ
Howard struggled for a moment. โWell, itโs not something I should explain. When we get in touch with Josiah, he can tell you himself.โ
โOkay,โ Sienna nodded slowly, her mind swirling with questions. She felt something serious must have happened.
Around 3 p.m., Sienna finished her scenes and left the set. It had started to rain. She checked her phoneโno missed calls or unread messages. Still no word from Josiah? she thought. She hesitated before calling him. โSorry, the subscriber you dialed is powered off.โ Sienna frowned. What could be going on?
When she arrived back at Sunshine Neighborhood, Joyce rushed over. โMom!โ Her big eyes peered around. โWhereโs Mr. Flynn?โ Sienna and Josiah usually came back together.
Sienna picked up Joyce and walked inside, explaining gently, โMr. Flynn has some things to take care of at home, so he wonโt be coming over for the next couple of days.โ
Joyce immediately pouted.
Sienna couldnโt bear to see Joyce upset, so she teased her, โSo, does that mean you only like Mr. Flynn now?โ
โNo!โ Joyceโs eyes widened. โI love you!โ
โReally?โ Sienna raised an eyebrow. โThen itโs okay for me to stay with you, right? Lately, it seems like you stay with Mr. Flynn.โ
โI want Mom to give me a bath, read me a story, and tuck me to bed!โ Joyce immediately threw her arms around Siennaโs neck.
โOkay,โ Sienna fought back a smile, relieved sheโd dodged the conversation.
After getting Joyce to sleep, Sienna picked up her phone again. The screen was still cleanโno messages or missed calls. She frowned, unsure if it was confusion or concern.
The next morning, before heading to the set, Sienna stopped by the hospital to pick up Joyceโs medication refill. She came out of the pharmacy, walking through the crowded lobby. She turned sideways and squeezed through the crowd. In the bustle, she accidentally brushed against someone, causing her medicine bag to fall.
โIโm sorry,โ the person apologized, bending down to help. The contents spilled, and the medicine rolled onto the floor.
โSienna!โ A sudden voice called out. Sienna froze. Conner grinned widely at her. โIt really is you!โ
Sienna frowned, took the medicine box from his hands, and put it back in the bag. Without saying a word, she turned to leave.
โSienna, wait!โ Conner called, catching up and grabbing her wrist. He frowned slightly. โWhatโs wrong? Are you sick?โ
