Chapter 374

โ€œGrandma!โ€ Howard frowned furiously. โ€œYou canโ€™t say that to Josiah! He hasnโ€™t wanted anything from the Flynn family. If he were that kind of person, when I was in a coma for four years, he could have taken over everything!โ€

For four years, Josiah had tirelessly managed the Flynn familyโ€™s affairs. To the outside world, he was the powerful head of the family; in reality, he was a loyal member.

โ€œHe truly sees us as familyโ€”he sees you as his grandmother and me as his older brother! Your words were too harsh,โ€ Howard said.

Miranda was stunned, speechless. She sobbed, covering her eyes. โ€œWhat do you want me to do? Just thinking about Josiah being gone and someone replacing him hurts so much!โ€

Chasing after Josiah was pointless. Howard left the ward and tried calling him, but Josiahโ€™s phone was off. His phone never went unreachable; heโ€™d clearly turned it off himself.

โ€œHervey!โ€ Howard called, raising his hand.

โ€œYes, Mr. Howard Flynn,โ€ Hervey responded, approaching quickly.

Howard said, โ€œCall Zach, Chester, and James. Find Josiah, and make sure to track him down!โ€

โ€œUnderstood,โ€ Hervey nodded sharply and hurried off.

โ€œWhatโ€™s going on?โ€ Yvette arrived to visit Miranda and immediately sensed something was wrong.

โ€œWhat happened? Is Miranda okay?โ€ she asked.

โ€œNo,โ€ Howard shook his head, sighing heavily. โ€œGrandma drove Josiah away, and now I canโ€™t reach him.โ€

โ€œWhat?โ€ Yvette was shocked. โ€œHowโ€ฆ?โ€

She had her frustrations with Miranda, but after glancing at Howard, she swallowed her words, silently complaining. Miranda is so cruel. Even though Josiah wasnโ€™t biologically part of the Flynn family, he was raised by them. Over these years, heโ€™d stuck by the family, creating immense value. Wasnโ€™t that worth something? If it werenโ€™t for Josiah during those years Howard was in a coma, the Flynn family would have been finished. And now, Miranda couldnโ€™t even appreciate itโ€”she turned her back without a second thought!

โ€œDonโ€™t worry,โ€ Howard said, trying to calm Yvette, mindful of her health. โ€œIโ€™ve already sent Hervey and Zach to look for him.โ€ He paused. โ€œDo you think thereโ€™s anywhere Josiah might have gone?โ€

Yvette frowned, thinking for a moment. Then, hesitantly, โ€œWhat about Sienna? Have you checked with her?โ€

Howardโ€™s eyes lit up. โ€œRight, I forgot about Sienna. Youโ€™re sharp as always. Iโ€™ll call her now.โ€

He immediately called Sienna, but no one answered.

Yvette glanced at her watch. โ€œSheโ€™s probably filming. Josiah might have gone to find her.โ€

โ€œWhereโ€™s the set you were at recently?โ€ Howard asked.

โ€œBie,โ€ Yvette replied.

Howard nodded, putting his phone away. โ€œIโ€™ll head to the set to find her. You should go in and keep Grandma company.โ€

Yvette nodded. โ€œCall as soon as you have news.โ€

Howard nodded. โ€œI will.โ€

7:40 AM

Howard hurried to the set and found Sienna.

โ€œHoward?โ€ Sienna said, surprised. โ€œWhat are you doing here? Is something wrong? Is it Miranda?โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ Howard quickly shook his head. โ€œDonโ€™t worry, Grandmaโ€™s fine.โ€

โ€œThen whatโ€™s going on?โ€ she asked.

Seeing her reaction, Howard knew, but still asked, โ€œJosiah didnโ€™t come to see you, did he?โ€

โ€œJosiah?โ€ Sienna didnโ€™t understand. โ€œHe came to find me this morning. After he dropped me off at the set, he left.โ€

Josiah wasnโ€™t there. Howardโ€™s heart sank. โ€œSienna, if Josiah comes looking for you, can you let me know?โ€

Sienna was puzzled. โ€œCanโ€™t reach him, Howard?โ€

Howard nodded, his eyes shadowed with worry.

โ€œHoward,โ€ Sienna hesitated, concern growing. โ€œHas something happened to Josiah?โ€

Howard struggled for a moment. โ€œWell, itโ€™s not something I should explain. When we get in touch with Josiah, he can tell you himself.โ€

โ€œOkay,โ€ Sienna nodded slowly, her mind swirling with questions. She felt something serious must have happened.

Around 3 p.m., Sienna finished her scenes and left the set. It had started to rain. She checked her phoneโ€”no missed calls or unread messages. Still no word from Josiah? she thought. She hesitated before calling him. โ€œSorry, the subscriber you dialed is powered off.โ€ Sienna frowned. What could be going on?

When she arrived back at Sunshine Neighborhood, Joyce rushed over. โ€œMom!โ€ Her big eyes peered around. โ€œWhereโ€™s Mr. Flynn?โ€ Sienna and Josiah usually came back together.

Sienna picked up Joyce and walked inside, explaining gently, โ€œMr. Flynn has some things to take care of at home, so he wonโ€™t be coming over for the next couple of days.โ€

Joyce immediately pouted.

Sienna couldnโ€™t bear to see Joyce upset, so she teased her, โ€œSo, does that mean you only like Mr. Flynn now?โ€

โ€œNo!โ€ Joyceโ€™s eyes widened. โ€œI love you!โ€

โ€œReally?โ€ Sienna raised an eyebrow. โ€œThen itโ€™s okay for me to stay with you, right? Lately, it seems like you stay with Mr. Flynn.โ€

โ€œI want Mom to give me a bath, read me a story, and tuck me to bed!โ€ Joyce immediately threw her arms around Siennaโ€™s neck.

โ€œOkay,โ€ Sienna fought back a smile, relieved sheโ€™d dodged the conversation.

After getting Joyce to sleep, Sienna picked up her phone again. The screen was still cleanโ€”no messages or missed calls. She frowned, unsure if it was confusion or concern.

The next morning, before heading to the set, Sienna stopped by the hospital to pick up Joyceโ€™s medication refill. She came out of the pharmacy, walking through the crowded lobby. She turned sideways and squeezed through the crowd. In the bustle, she accidentally brushed against someone, causing her medicine bag to fall.

โ€œIโ€™m sorry,โ€ the person apologized, bending down to help. The contents spilled, and the medicine rolled onto the floor.

โ€œSienna!โ€ A sudden voice called out. Sienna froze. Conner grinned widely at her. โ€œIt really is you!โ€

Sienna frowned, took the medicine box from his hands, and put it back in the bag. Without saying a word, she turned to leave.

โ€œSienna, wait!โ€ Conner called, catching up and grabbing her wrist. He frowned slightly. โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong? Are you sick?โ€
