Mine, Not Yours – 1
Thea’s POV
Slowly, I turned around to find Sebastian sitting right next to me. He was wearing a simple t-shirt and jeans, looking nothing like the polished Alpha I was used to seeing.
“What are you doing here?” I stuttered, still in disbelief that he’d actually shown up.
“Leo mentioned you guys would be here, so I came,” he shrugged, as if his statement wasn’t completely insane.
I couldn’t stand being near him, so I stood up without a word and walked away. I heard him calling my name, but I chose to ignore it.
I ducked into the nearest restroom, trying to calm myself down. Why now? Just when I’d decided to move forward, he suddenly changes his attitude? Things weren’t supposed to be this way.
I splashed water on my face, attempting to cool down my emotions. Whatever his reason was for suddenly wanting to be part of my life, it didn’t matter. We were over. Hell, we were over before we even properly began.
When I felt more composed, I stepped out of the restroom only to collide with someone. That familiar scent immediately told me who I’d bumped into.
I jerked away from him as if I’d been burned. With my pregnancy hormones making me emotional, I didn’t want him to misinterpret anything.
“Thea,” he called, his voice low and husky.
“What the fuck do you want, Sebastian?”
I still couldn’t figure him out, and part of me didn’t want to. All I knew was that he’d caused me pain, and I didn’t want to experience that kind of hurt again.
“I just want to talk. There’s something important I need to tell you,” his tone was surprisingly hesitant.
That made me curious. Sebastian was many things, but hesitant and uncertain had never been among them. In all the years I’d known him, I’d never seen him waver like this. He was usually straightforward. Whether you liked what he had to say or not wasn’t his fucking problem.
I studied him carefully. His eyes looked different—he was watching me in a way I’d never seen before. Something about him had changed, but I couldn’t put my finger on what exactly.
Not only that, he almost looked…afraid. Like he didn’t know how to tell me whatever he wanted to say and was terrified of my reaction.
My curiosity grew. He was nervous. This nervousness was so out of character.
“What is it?”
Just as he was about to speak, Jaxon joined us.
“Thea, is he bothering you?” He positioned himself protectively beside me while glaring at Sebastian.
Sebastian scoffed derisively. “You’re the one who’s bothering her. Why are you always lusting after what’s mine? In high school, you were obsessed with Aurora. And now? Now it’s Thea. Stay the fuck away from her. She’s mine.”
His words filled me with rage. He had no right to speak to Jaxon that way. Besides, I’d already made it clear to him that I wasn’t his.
“You fucking asshole. Don’t talk about Thea like she’s a piece of meat you can claim ownership over,” Jaxon practically snarled.
His hands were balled into fists. His jaw was set, looking ready to lunge at Sebastian and beat the shit out of him at any moment.
I looked between them, unable to believe they were acting like two bristling pups. Jaxon’s eyes held pure hatred as he stared at Sebastian, while Sebastian’s were filled with jealousy.
What was odd was Jaxon’s expression. Sure, he’d had a crush on Aurora when she was with Sebastian, but Aurora had countless admirers back then. The fact that she only had eyes for Sebastian couldn’t explain that level of hatred. Plus, that was years ago. So why did he hate Sebastian so much?
“Stay out of this. This is between me and Thea,” Sebastian growled, his eyes beginning to flash gold as his wolf seemed ready to take over.
“Please, don’t do this,” I pleaded.
No one responded. They were beyond hearing me or thinking rationally.
I nervously glanced around. A small crowd had started to gather. Given Sebastian’s well-known status, some people had already taken out their phones.
