Chapter 32

Damon

The next morning, I woke to Clara groaning in my arms.

"Can you at least be still?" I murmured, without opening my eyes. She sighed.

"First, you're crushing me, and I need to pee," she muttered. I slowly opened my eyes.

"Why didn't you go?" I asked. I could tell she was rolling her eyes.

"Because, Sherlock, you threatened me. I didn't want to move in case you woke up and didn't see me," she explained. I rolled my eyes, let her go, and turned away.

"Go," I muttered. I heard her grumbling as she climbed out of bed. As she walked to the toilet, I opened my eyes slightly. My penis twitched when I saw her nakedness.

"Fuck me," I muttered, sighing as she closed the door. I groaned and got out of bed, dressed, and went to shower.

When I emerged, Clara was in my room, frowning.

"Can I help you?" I asked, noticing her eyes trail down my body before she gulped. I smirked and walked toward my closet, followed by her.

"How can you just leave like that? You told me not to leave, and then you leave?" she asked. I tilted my head.

"Yes, because I have better things to do. You don't dare leave the room when I'm in it; it's my rule, and it doesn't apply to me," I said. She stared, then scoffed.

"Every time I talk to you, it's like talking to a wall. Good day," she muttered, walking away. I admired her backside. Even though I tried not to admit it, Clara was hot. Everything about her turned me on.

"Alpha, you in here?" Luca's voice startled me. I rolled my eyes and turned back to my clothes.

He entered, sighing. "I saw Clara storming out. You upset her again," he muttered. I scoffed.

"It's not my fault she's getting entitled. Jason and Job work at Clara's workplace," I said. He was quiet for a moment.

"What about them?" he asked.

"Fire them immediately," I ordered.

"Why? What did they do?"

"Do I need to give a reason? When did I start answering to you?" I asked. He sighed and bowed his head.

"Got it, Alpha. You say you don't want her, and yet you're possessive," he muttered the last part under his breath, but I heard him.

"I'm not possessive, I'm protecting my name. What if she had an affair with one of them and tainted my reputation?" I said. He rolled his eyes.

"Whatever. You have a meeting with shareholders in two hours," he said, leaving. I considered his words. Was I possessive?

I scoffed and shook my head. Impossible.

I got dressed and skipped breakfast. I walked to my car with Luca and my guards. As I was about to get in, I saw Clara by the door, frowning, watching me. She turned and went back inside.

"Let's go?" Luca asked, snapping me out of it. I cleared my throat and nodded, getting into the car.

At the company, everyone bowed, avoiding my gaze. I was a god to them, and I loved it.

I paused when I felt small arms around my legs.

"Luca?" I called.

"Yes, Alpha."

"What's that?" I asked.

"It's a child, Alpha." A woman ran to me, falling to her knees.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. I didn't know he'd left my office," she pleaded. I gritted my teeth.

"Get it off me," I muttered. Luca took the child and gave him to his mother. The baby cried.

"I have a strict no-children policy. Why is he here?" I asked, glaring at the woman. Silence, except for the woman's cries and the baby's wails.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. My husband is ill, and I have no one"

"Get her out. She's never to set foot in this building again," I ordered. I heard a gasp.

Clara stood behind me, shocked. She glared disapprovingly, then helped the wailing woman up.

"You didn't even listen to her situation," she said. I frowned.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"And he's not 'it,' that's a child," she said. Murmurs arose as everyone watched. I hated being challenged in public.

"Watch your tongue before I put you in your place. Don't meddle in my business, understand?" I asked, walking toward her. Her surprise was evident.

"I'll meddle because you're my husband," she replied. I glared. Why was she so stubborn?

"Listen here, Clara…"

"Clara? Is that you?" I froze. Clara tensed. We both recognized the voice—Liam.

I glanced at Clara; she stared at him with adoration. Jealousy surged. I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her close, glaring at Liam. I was staking my claim.

"What are you doing here? Who let you in?" I asked, frowning when Clara removed my arm and stepped away. Liam smiled.

"I'm one of your shareholders, Alpha Damon."
