Chapter 78: Delilah

"He's angry at me," I murmured, walking into the room with Clara. "Who? Luca? He was really worried about you. Where did you run off to?" Clara asked, and I sighed. "I was waiting for you outside when I got a call about a friend's accident. I knew I wasn't needed, so I left. I even had to leave in my wolf form to get there quickly, and now Luca won't speak to me. I tried to explain," I murmured. She placed a hand on my shoulder, sighing. "He's just angry because he was worried, and I think your words hurt him," Clara said, and I frowned. "What did I say?"

"I think you said you didn't know he cared, and I think that's when his mood changed," she replied. I scoffed. "But that's the truth, though. He doesn't care. Was that all that was said?" I asked, noticing her pursed lips. "Come on, Clara. Spill," I urged, and she sighed. "Damon might have implied he won't accept your relationship with Luca unless it's a sibling relationship, and Luca said he only sees you as a sister," she murmured. I scoffed. "I don't care what Damon thinks; Luca is the one who matters, and I know he doesn't just see me as a sister. Maybe I have to make him admit it," I murmured, and she nodded. "Whatever you do, I'm always here for you," Clara said, and I smiled, hugging her tightly.

"So, you and my brother—are you okay now?" I asked, pulling away. Her pink face indicated things were more than okay.

"Did I tell you? He doesn't want our marriage to be based on a contract anymore. He really wants to take things seriously, but I'm so scared something else might come up and push us apart," she murmured, worry and fear in her eyes.

"I doubt anything can push you and Damon apart. You're too close, and with how obsessed he is with you, I doubt he'd ever let you go again. Besides, if anything happens, see it as a way to get closer. Haven't you noticed that every time you two fight or are apart, you get back together stronger? Don't fret, okay? You guys are soulmates," I said, and she took a deep breath before nodding. "You're right. Now let's go back to you—how do you plan on making Luca confess his feelings?" she asked, and I smirked. "I have a few tricks up my sleeves, but first, I have to make sure he really likes me before I make my move."

At that moment, the door opened, and a girl I recognized as Clara's maid entered. A scowl appeared on her face, and I knew I wouldn't like this. "Who are you?" I asked, but she ignored me, bowing to Clara. "I'm to ask if you have any specific food requests for lunch," the girl said. I scoffed. "This b****!" I muttered, about to charge at her when Clara held my hand, pulling me back. "Don't fight, please. And Gwen, don't be rude to Delilah. She's Damon's sister and…"

"I know exactly who she is. She's a Donovan, and I don't like her. She's related to my father's murderer, and I will not associate with the likes of them," Gwen said. I scoffed. "Since you fing know us so well, you should also know that we Donovans don't appreciate being talked down to. I don't care if you're Clara's maid or friend; you'll respect me because you're in my territory, and if I wish to kill you, I can in a second. Know your fing place and watch your tone," I muttered through clenched teeth. The maid didn't respond, but stared at me with hate in her eyes. She was pissing me off.

"Please don't fight, and Gwen, don't be rude to Delilah. She's my best friend and sister. I won't be lenient if you talk down to her or my husband, so please, watch your tongue." Gwen's eyes softened instantly. Clara seemed to have won her over. "Yes, ma'am. What would you like to eat?" she asked, and Clara smiled. "You choose; we'll eat together," Clara replied, and the girl nodded before leaving.

"I don't like her," I murmured, and Clara giggled. "She just has a lot of anger in her heart because of what Damon did to her family. I haven't gotten through to her yet," Clara said. I was about to respond when the door opened, and Damon walked in with Luca behind him. My eyes were immediately glued to Luca. How could someone be so handsome? He was perfect. Sensing my gaze, he turned, our eyes met, but he quickly broke eye contact, looking to Damon to see if he'd noticed. Damon was too engrossed in Clara. "All of you out; I want to spend time with my baby," Damon announced. I rolled my eyes, making a gagging noise as they began to kiss. "See you later, Clara," I murmured, waving before leaving the room.

As soon as the door closed, I turned to Luca, but before I could speak, he walked away. "Why are you acting like this? I said I was sorry," I said, running after him. He stopped. "Sorry for what, exactly?" he asked, and I sighed.

"For leaving without telling you and for saying I didn't think you cared, but you do, and…"

"You are wrong, Delilah. I'm only tolerating you because you're Damon's sister, but if this obsession continues, I won't hesitate to show you how I really feel about you. Stay away from me," he said. I gasped in shock as he walked away. He couldn't mean that, could he? I shook my head, running after him and standing before him, blocking his escape.

"Take back what you said; you didn't mean that," I murmured, crying.

"Delilah…"

"Look into my eyes and tell me you don't share any feelings for me," I urged. He didn't speak, only stared at me with pursed lips. I smiled. "Yes, I am obsessed with you because I love you, and I know you know that. The only way I'll leave you alone is if you tell me to my face that you don't have any feelings for me whatsoever, but since you can't say it, then let me continue being obsessed…"

Note: I've cleaned up the grammar and punctuation, removed excessive dialogue tags, and replaced the offensive words with asterisks. The story still contains strong language. Consider further revisions if you want a more polished or family-friendly version.
