Chapter 122: The Weight of Love

Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts. Thinking about everything that had happened recently, her thoughts finally settled on the Graham Groupโ€™s marriage alliance with the Lastesh Group. Don't dream of becoming Mrs. Graham.

Suddenly, she stepped out of the bathtub, pushing the wet strands of hair away from her face. Hadnโ€™t I already known? Thenโ€ฆ why did my heart feel so hurt?

After her bath, Summer dried herself, wrapped a white towel around herself, and walked into the living room. Suddenly, she saw a man sitting on the sofa. He was slightly bent over, holding a design book she had left on the table, and reading it intently.

She heard her footsteps. The man looked up, his dark, deep gaze landing on Summer. She had just stepped out of the shower, her skin still glistening with moisture. Her pale skin had a rosy tint, and her loose robe revealed her delicate collarbone and the smooth, pale skin of her chest. Her legs were long and shapely, and her feet were pale with pink toes.

Fraserโ€™s eyes darkened a shade, and the corner of his lips curved slightly. โ€œLike drawing?โ€

Summer avoided his intense gaze, her voice calm. โ€œJust flipping through a magazine. Why are you here?โ€

Fraser leisurely closed the magazine and put it on the table, looking at her with amusement. โ€œNot welcoming me?โ€

Summer walked over to the desk and subtly put a folder into a drawer. The next moment, the man walked over and placed his hands on either side of her, leaning in close. His head rested on her shoulder, the faint scent of her body and the jasmine scent of her bath enveloping him.

Summer instinctively froze. Fraser raised an eyebrow, his handsome face teasing. โ€œOne day apart, and your body doesnโ€™t recognize me anymore?โ€

Summer lowered her eyes. โ€œIโ€™m not feeling well.โ€

โ€œDid I hurt you last night, huh?โ€

Summer didnโ€™t answer the question, but pushed his hand away from the table. She stepped away from the overwhelming male presence. Fraser saw the slight resistance in her demeanor and pulled her back. Summer stumbled into his arms.

Fraser sat down on the desk chair and pulled her onto his lap. He played with a strand of hair near her chest, his long, well-formed fingers occasionally brushing the soft swell of her breasts. A tingling sensation shot through Summer, making her shiver slightly.

Fraser turned her face back to him, his fingers pinching her soft, pale cheek, his thumb gently pressing into her skin. โ€œWhatโ€™s bothering you?โ€

โ€œNothing. Iโ€™m just not in the mood today.โ€

Fraserโ€™s lips curled into a lazy smile. โ€œDid I say I would do something?โ€

Summer felt suffocated. Usually, when it came to things without a future, I wouldnโ€™t get so involved. But the thought of mentioning the word โ€œbreak upโ€ฆโ€ Those two words felt like a thousand pounds pressing down on my chest.

โ€œIโ€™m going to get some water.โ€ With that, Summer stood up from his lap, walked to the refrigerator, and pulled out a bottle of cold water. On the table, her red phone lit up with a notification. Fraserโ€™s gaze shifted from her slim figure to her phone.

A string of numbers with no name attached. โ€œSummer, Iโ€™m sorry. Come back to me.โ€

Fraserโ€™s eyes immediately darkened. He picked up the phone and dialed the number. โ€œHappy birthday! I will change. Iโ€™ll change everything. Can you forgive me?โ€

Fraser threw the phone back on the desk. He stood up and walked over, scooping Summer into his arms and carrying her into the bedroom. Summer, suddenly lifted into the air, lost her slippers, her beautiful legs kicking slightly.

โ€œFraser! What are you doing?โ€

Fraser threw Summer onto the bed. His long fingers began to unbutton his sapphire blue shirt, revealing well-defined muscles that were both seductive and intimidating. Summer lay on the bed, her robe falling open, exposing her smooth shoulders. She propped herself up on her hands, a hint of coldness in her bright eyes. โ€œIs that all you want from me!โ€

Fraserโ€™s sharp, narrow eyes were unreadable, his voice deep and husky. โ€œWhat, didnโ€™t you have fun last night?โ€

With that, Fraser leaned down and bit her slender neck, his lips teasing and nibbling. Summer clenched her fists, her breathing getting heavier. The manโ€™s lips moved from her neck upward, finally stopping at her small earlobe.
