Chapter 154: Summer Piglet Is Upset

After her dinner with Sienna, Summer returned to Brookhaven Estates with a complicated feeling in her heart. When she opened the door, she saw a man lying lazily on the sofa, dressed in a gray shirt. One arm rested behind his head, the other draped across his forehead. His long legs were casually crossed at the edge of the couch.

Hearing the door open, Fraser slowly lifted his hand, lazily peeling open his eyes. His dark pupils were as deep as the ocean, his long lashes slightly drooping. His half-awake gaze carried an unintentional hint of desire. Standing in the doorway, Summer was caught off guard, crashing straight into his penetrating stare.

For a moment, the air seemed to freeze. The two of them silently locked eyes, neither speaking a word. The bedroom light was off; only the faint glow of moonlight seeped in through the balcony. Summer couldnโ€™t clearly see his features, but she could feel his intense gaze pulling her in, rendering her unable to move. The only sounds in the house were their slow, even breaths and the ticking of the clock against the wall.

After a while, Fraser lazily sat up, leaning back on the sofa, his arms resting casually on either side. Summer quickly snapped out of it. The lights flickered on. Fraser raised a brow. โ€œSummer Piglet, acting like a big shot now? Ignoring my calls and vanishing into thin air?โ€

Summer bent slightly, reaching down to remove her heels and switch into slippers. As she bent over, the curve of her slender, delicate waist was unintentionally revealed.

โ€œI never agreed to stay here last night.โ€

Fraserโ€™s gaze was locked onto her every movement. His eyes darkened, his voice turning husky and seductive. โ€œSo I was just being delusional?โ€

Summer replied flatly, โ€œI just donโ€™t like staying in unfamiliar houses.โ€

The house wasnโ€™t particularly large. Yet, even just sitting in the living room, Fraserโ€™s tall frame and presence made the space feel suffocating. Summer finished changing her shoes and hesitated. Should she walk past him directly and head to her room, or should she just ignore him completely?

In the end, she decided to walk right past him. But just as she did, he suddenly reached out and caught her fingers. His fingertips were hot. The moment they touched her cooler skin, a jolt of electricity shot through her veins, sending a wave of heat straight to her chest.

Summer instinctively pulled away. โ€œFraser.โ€

Fraser exerted a bit more force, pulling her directly in front of him. His legs remained lazily spread apart, and she was now standing between them. Fraser tilted his head up, his eyes locked onto hers as he said, โ€œSummer, youโ€™re upset.โ€

Summer blinked, her long lashes fluttering like butterfly wings. โ€œAnd which eye of yours saw that I was upset?โ€

Fraser slowly stood up. His towering frame instantly cast an overwhelming pressure. He tapped a finger against his chest. โ€œRight here. I can see it crystal clear. Tell me, who made you unhappy? Iโ€™ll handle them for you.โ€

Summer lowered her gaze, avoiding his intense eyes. She said nothing. Fraser reached out and pinched her soft cheek.

โ€œFraser,โ€ Summer, feeling unsettled, pulled his hand away. โ€œStop touching me all over.โ€

Fraser arched a brow, the corners of his lips lifting slightly. โ€œOh, yesterday I could touch you, but today I canโ€™t? My lady, youโ€™re quite fickle, arenโ€™t you?โ€

Fraser leaned in slightly, his chiseled face closing the distance. His eyes locked onto hers. As he spoke, he took her hand and pressed it firmly against his face. Summer wasnโ€™t sure if this hand had touched his childhood sweetheart before.

That thought suddenly made her freeze. It felt like a bucket of cold water had been dumped over her head. She tried to withdraw her hand, but he held it tightly in place. Summer frowned. โ€œLet me go.โ€

โ€œNo.โ€

Summer was starting to get annoyed. โ€œYou call me fickle, but arenโ€™t you just as overbearing?โ€

Fraser lazily lifted his eyelids. โ€œFine, I wonโ€™t be overbearing. Now tell me, what happened?โ€

Summerโ€™s expression remained cold. โ€œNothing. Itโ€™s none of your business.โ€

โ€œSienna.โ€ Fraserโ€™s deep voice carried a hint of carelessness. โ€œIf you donโ€™t tell me, how am I supposed to comfort you?โ€

Summer slightly turned her head, her eyes staring directly at him.
