Chapter 252: Ruining Her Birthday
The Graham Groupโs investment division was the largest investor in the country. No matter the industry, if it was a top-tier institution, the Graham Group had a stake in it.
Xavier made a call. โBossman, want to come to The Qube for some fun?โ
The man on the other end responded with an emotionless voice, โNo time.โ
โOh?โ Xavier chuckled. โYour dear Summer is here.โ
Fraser frowned. What is she doing in a place like that while pregnant?
โWhy is she there?โ
Xavier shrugged, his tone laced with amusement. โNo idea. She said sheโs here for her best friendโs birthday party. You know how loud this place is. From a medical perspective, itโs not good for a pregnant woman to stay too long. It could lead to suboptimal health. Best case, itโs bad for the baby; worst caseโฆ well, you know. As your good friend, I feel obligated to stop her. The problem is, I donโt know which private room sheโs in.โ
Xavier spouted nonsense with a completely serious expression. But the man on the other end actually listened. His deep voice came through. โWait there.โ
With that, the call ended. A few seconds later, Xavier received a message: โRoom 505. Keep an eye on her. Iโll be there soon.โ
Xavier smirked. Little wildcat, here I come!
Summer entered Room 505. The place was packed, filled with a deafening mix of voices and flashing lights. The stage glowed with dazzling colors, casting an almost surreal glow over the room. The music blasted at full volume.
Most of Yvetteโs social circle was from the entertainment industry. So, nearly everyone attending her birthday party tonight was a trending celebrity or internet influencerโgorgeous, glamorous women dressed to impress.
When Summer walked in, the crowd was too caught up in the party to notice her. It was Yvette, in the middle of dancing, who spotted her first. She immediately jumped off the stage and pulled Summer over. โSummer, you made it! Sit for a bit. Iโll have them bring out the cake now. Once we blow out the candles, you can have a bite, and Iโll have someone send you home.โ
Summer glanced at the time. โItโs not even midnight yet.โ
Yvette knew this environment was too overwhelming for a pregnant woman. The fact that Summer had come at all already made her happy. โWith you here, it already feels like midnight.โ She called over a server to prepare the cake.
Moments later, a towering five-layer cake was wheeled in by the staff. The band on stage lowered the volume, and all the celebrities and influencers gathered around.
โWow, the birthday girlโs moment!โ
โHappy birthday, Yvette! May your career reach new heights! Time to win that award!โ
โMay Yvette make tons of money!โ
The atmosphere instantly became even livelier. Just as the cake was being brought in, a man strolled in behind itโa slick-looking guy with a roguish air. It was Bobby, the same Bobby who had been relentlessly chasing after Yvette recently.
Bobby, dressed in a blue shirt and black trousers, was surveying the room.
โHeard itโs your birthday. You seriouslyโฆ?โ
โThe hell does my birthday have to do withโฆ?โ
Hobby had already had a few drinks, and the audacity to bother her after ignoring her for nearly half a year was astounding. And she still ignored him. If soft tactics didnโt work, it was time for something ruder. Women were all the same, saving no when they really meant yes. Summer recoiled at the sight of Bobby.
Back when she was with Trevor, the one person she disliked the most among his friends was Bobby.
A shameless man, arrogant and condescending toward women. Hobbyโs gaze swept the room casually and landed on Summer.
โYo, Summer, youโre here too. Hardly saw you with your buddy Trevor and snuck off to the bossman of the Graham Group.โ
Summerโs expression turned cold. โWhat does that have to do with you?โ
Bobby casually hooked his finger under a pretty girlโs chin. The girl blushed and lowered her head.
โI just donโt get it. Back then, you clung to Trevor like your life depended on it. And now, youโve thrown yourself into another manโs arms? Does the bossman not mind picking up scraps since sheโs leftover?โ
His words were beyond insulting. The room was full of women, all watching with interest, eager for gossip. Yvette was furious. Why did this disgusting man have to ruin her birthday party?
Summer picked up a glass of water from the table, ready to throw it straight at Bobby.
