Chapter 270: Tears and Comfort
The doctor noticed the womanโs face had turned deathly pale. โThere is nothing to worry about. Induced abortion is just the worst-case scenario. There may be nothing wrong. Go get checked out first.โ
Standing nearby, Lucas froze when he heard Summer say she was pregnant. After the tests, Summer and Lucas sat on a bench in the hospital corridor.
โIs there something you want to ask me?โ Summer said.
Lucas hesitated for a moment. โSo this is why you rejected me.โ
Summer stared blankly at the examination room in the distance. The smell of disinfectant permeated the air. The cold, sterile atmosphere of the hospital was inescapable.
โYes and no,โ she replied.
โIs the father of the child the man from last time?โ Lucas asked quietly.
Summer remained silent. Her stomach had been cramping since she awoke. A feeling of dread and fear enveloped her. Even with Lucas by her side, he couldnโt dispel the terror in her heart.
What ifโฆ because of her carelessness, her babyโฆ She didnโt dare think any further.
Seeing how pale Summer looked, Lucas felt a pang of heartache. He was still reeling from the shock of her pregnancy, but he knew what to say and what not to say. Lucas comforted her. โThe results arenโt in yet. Thereโs nothing to worry about. Iโm going to get you some water. Wait here for me.โ
After Lucas left, Summer stared numbly at her phone, her fingers absently tracing its edges, lost in thought. Suddenly, a series of hurried, heavy footsteps approached from down the hall. Summer looked up. A tall, familiar figure came into view. Before she could hide her emotions, her eyes stung. A flood of feelingsโguilt, confusion, grief, and resentmentโwashed over her.
Fraser walked over and knelt on one knee in front of her. His dark eyes swept over her from head to toe, confirming that she was unharmed. Seeing her pallor, his heart ached.
Chapter 270: Tears and Comfort
The moisture in Summerโs eyes finally spilled over. At first, I hadnโt wanted this child, but later I had decided to keep it. That decision had taken a lot of courage and hope. If anything happened tonight because of meโฆ I will never forgive myself.
Fraser watched her tears fall. The crystal-clear drops seemed to pierce his chest. He reached out to wipe her cheeks, his thumb brushing away the wetness at the corners of her eyes. His voice was tender. โYouโre a grown woman, and youโre still crying like this.โ
For once, Summer didnโt argue. She had no strength left. Inside, she trembled with fear. Suddenly, she reached out and wrapped her arms tightly around Fraser, burying her face in his neck. Her grip was desperate, as if she was afraid of losing something precious.
Fraserโs eyes flickered. Slowly, he wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her tightly against him. His dark eyes were filled with pain.
Meanwhile, Lucas, who had just returned with water, saw Summer throw herself into another manโs embrace. His expression remained the same, but his usually gentle eyes began to darken. Lucas didnโt approach. After standing for a moment, he placed the water bottle on the hospital bench, turned, and walked away, his silhouette lonely.
Summer wept silently, her body shaking. Her tears slid down Fraserโs neck, seeping into his shirt, scalding, stinging. Fraserโs heart felt like it was being violently squeezed. The pain spread from his chest to his entire body; even his breath became feverish! Was this woman made of water? How could there be so many tears?! The more she cried, the more I wanted to destroy everyone who made her suffer.
Fraserโs voice was hoarse, laced with restraint. โSummer, even ifโฆ we can have another child. Whenever you want.โ
After crying for a while, Summer regained some composure. She pulled away, sniffling softly. โI past want this one.โ
Fraserโs gaze deepened, staring straight into her eyes. His tone was commanding yet firm. โGood. Then she wonโt dare have any problems. Otherwiseโฆ Iโll spank her.โ

Chapter 270: Tears and Comfort
Summer suddenly remembered something. โHow did you get here?โ
Fraser narrowed his eyes, his expression unreadable. He scoffed. โYour friend has no fear of death. She blocked my car alone, crying and rambling. But tonightโs mess is partly her fault, too.โ
Summer understood. Merry had gone to find Fraser.
