Chapter 325: Lap Sits and Jealous Fits
Iโve already found a professional manager, but heโs going abroad. Before she could finish, a soft sound of footsteps came from the doorway.
The next second, Summer saw the office door handle turning and said into the phone, โMom, Iโll call you back later.โ After hanging up with a click, the door opened from the outside, and a tall man stepped in with deep, measured footsteps.
Summer set her phone down and stood up, her clear, bright eyes looking at Fraser. โMeetingโsโฆโ She briefly assessed him, noticing his handsome face appeared calm. She breathed a sigh of relief; he probably hadnโt heard what was said on the phone.
Fraserโs gaze was deep as he looked at Summer, a fleeting shadow passing through his dark eyes too quickly to catch. He walked over and took her hand, his fingertips grazing hers as he led her to sit down on the sofa. His voice was gentle. โWhy didnโt you go rest in the lounge?โ
โI donโt know how I fell asleep; must be your office sofa is just too comfy.โ
โIs that so?โ
Fraser ran his fingers through Summerโs soft hair, casually asking, โWhat would you like for dinner tonight?โ
Leaning against his chest, Summer toyed with his tie. โHow about something you make?โ
A muffled chuckle came from his chest as Fraser laughed lightly. โPicky eater, huh? If you want me to cook, then what kind of service are you offering in exchange?โ
Summerโs lips curved more broadly, pretending ignorance, her breath sweet as she asked, โWhat service?โ
โWhat do you think?โ
โI donโt know.โ
Fraser smiled. โHow about you help me batheโฆโ
Summer glanced at him slyly. โLast time was when you were badly injured, and Iโm pregnant. Do you really want me to strain myself?โ
โNot at all.โ Summerโs eyes twinkled mischievously as Fraser watched her charming demeanor, a rare emotion flickering in his eyes.
He wrapped his arm around her slender waist, pulling her closer, her delicate scent filling his nose. Summer remembered something and looked up at him.
โFraser, I want to bring Pudding back to live with us.โ
Knowing about Summerโs pregnancy, Fraser had kept Pudding away from her, even though the dog was clean and well-behaved. He was just being extra cautious.
Fraser hesitated. Knowing his concerns, Summer continued, โItโs okay, Iโm over three months along now, the baby is stable. Plus, Pudding is bathed daily and gets regular check-ups; it wonโt affect me. Iโve seen many pregnant women who keep dogs.โ
After a moment of contemplation, Fraser took out his phone and called the servants to bring Pudding to the Graham Mansion. After hanging up, he saw Summerโs expectant look.
Fraser chuckled and pinched her nose, โHappy now?โ
Summer was genuinely delighted. Even when she couldnโt remember Pudding, she loved it so much; realizing Pudding was the puppy sheโd once rescued made her eager to see it immediately. It felt like regaining something precious.
She beamed up at Fraser, โThank you.โ
Fraser stood up, a slight smile on his lips, โLetโs go, my dear, letโs go home.โ
Summer happily took his clean, long hand, following him out. Half an hour later, they arrived at the Graham Mansion. The new butler, Taylor, immediately greeted them with several servants.
Fraser, leading Summer inside, was met by Taylor, who respectfully asked, โMr. Graham, any preferences for dinner tonight?โ
โNo need, Iโll cook.โ As he spoke, the servants looked shocked.
Taylor, his jaw dropping then closing slowly in surprise, quickly ordered the servants to hurry. In the kitchen, Fraser removed his suit jacket and rolled up his shirt sleeves. His arms, well-defined, stirred the ingredients expertly.
Summer leaned against the door, arms crossed, watching his silhouette as he cooked. Even from just his back, one could sense his distinguished aura. A man cooking indeed has a unique charm. Fraser, as if sensing her gaze, his deep, relaxed voice tinged with amusement, โIโm honored youโre watching me like this.โ
Summerโs cheeks flushed, and she turned her eyes away.
