Chapter 1206
The wrap party was scheduled to end at 12 oโclock in the early morning, just two hours away.
I stared at Kimberly and the people around her, observing for a long time but finding nothing unusual. So, was I overthinking it? Was she actually not planning to cause trouble? Thinking this, I felt slightly relieved.
I had just taken a few bites of cake when Johnathan hurried over, asking anxiously, "Have you seen Vonnie?"
My heart skipped a beat. I quickly stood up, "What do you mean? Wasnโt Vonnie with you? Werenโt you interacting with fans?"
Johnathan furrowed his brow, his face filled with anxiety. "We were, but she suddenly needed to go to the bathroom."
I was supposed to go with her, but fans were asking me about my relationship with Vonnie, so she asked me to stay and interact with them. I was worried she might have an issue, so I sent two bodyguards to accompany her. I thought with the bodyguards there, nothing would happen."
"Yeah," I nodded.
It was just a trip to the bathroom, a public place under surveillance, and she had bodyguards. What could possibly happen?
Comforting myself, I asked, "And then? Did Vonnie not come back? Or did she go somewhere to rest?"
Johnathan shook his head urgently. "The bodyguards came back, but they didnโt see Vonnie."
I asked where Vonnie had gone. The bodyguards said, "After Vonnie came out of the bathroom, she didnโt let them follow her, saying she had something to take care of."
Upon hearing this, I felt something was wrong. I quickly called Vonnie, but no one answered.
After listening to Johnathanโs account, my heart sank. I instinctively looked toward Kimberly, who was still interacting with fans, smiling sweetly and innocently. What did she do to Vonnie behind the scenes?
Without evidence, I didnโt feel comfortable questioning her rashly. And with so many media and fans present, it wouldn't work. She might wrongly accuse me of bullying her.
All I could do was hope that Vonnie was tired and had gone somewhere to rest. I took out my phone and called Vonnie. Johnathan stared at my phone, his brow furrowed with anxiety.
However, Vonnieโs phone was turned off.
Johnathanโs face changed. He looked at me, "How could this happen? She couldnโt have just shut it down for no reason, could sheโฆ"
"No way!" I interrupted him quietly, but my heart sank.
Vonnie never made us worry like this; she always let us know where she was going. Why did she dismiss the bodyguards? She told them she had something to do, but we were all at the wrap party. What could be more important than that?
Moreover, Johnathan and I were here, so if there were something urgent, she could have told us. There was no need to make an excuse to go to the bathroom and leave.
And what about the fans? She cared so much about them. There was no way she would abandon them and leave quietly like that.
