Chapter 715

I covered my stomach, feeling anxious. “My stomach suddenly hurts.”

“What’s going on?” Vonnie panicked and shouted at Anton, “Come over here and take a look, Ralda is not feeling well.”

Before Anton arrived, I completely passed out.

Waking up again, I found myself back at Anton’s villa.

Vonnie sat on the edge of the bed, looking at me with red eyes.

Anton was taking out the IV drip.

I closed my eyes uncomfortably and asked Vonnie, “What’s wrong with me? Is the child okay?”

Vonnie shook her head in a panic. “The babies are fine, it’s just that your emotional fluctuations have caused fetal movement and false contractions.”

With that, she said angrily, “It’s all because of that Johnathan. What was the point of him coming to you and saying those things? Luckily, you and the baby are fine.”

I touched my swollen belly, feeling both self-mockery and sadness.

I said I had no more connection with Reynaldo, but when I heard Johnathan say that he was torturing his body, I couldn’t help but worry and feel anxious.

Anton removed the IV drip and looked at me, saying, “Your body was not fully recovered to begin with, and with excessive worry, sadness, and emotional stress, it led to these complications. Babies can feel your emotions.”

“So Esmeralda, stop thinking about the past, and focus on the days ahead.”

I looked at the bright light outside the window and said softly, “I want to leave here, to no longer have any involvement with you, just to live my life well.”

Anton tightened his grip on my hand, and suddenly, with a thud, knelt in front of me.

Vonnie was startled, “What are you doing? Get up quickly!”

Anton looked at me sadly and said, “I know you resent me and don’t want to see me, so these past two days, I have been staying away, afraid to appear in front of you. But why do you still want to leave?”

“Esmeralda, will you stay? As long as you stay, I promise, without your permission, I will never appear in front of you.”

Looking at him like that, a touch of indescribable sadness and irony crossed my heart.

I said, “Why do you have to be so humble? You are forcing me, do you know?”

“No, I just want you to be well. Your body is very weak, and there is always a risk. I simply can’t bear to let you leave.”

“Esmeralda, Kimberly betrayed you, and I’m sorry. Please stay, let me make it up to you.”

I stared blankly at the ceiling, saying nothing.

Vonnie looked at me and said quietly, “Ralda, why don’t you just stay here? Even though Anton is despicable, his medical skills are truly excellent. With him here, I can also feel at ease.”
