Chapter 869

Johnathan took a deep breath, anger evident, but in the end he relented and sat back on the chair with a huff.

I touched my forehead and thought to myself, โ€œWhy was Johnathan so angry today, snapping at everyone he saw?โ€ He seemed to pick a fight with everyone except Reynaldo.

At that moment, a familiar face hurried overโ€”Vonnieโ€™s agent, Hudson Norton.

Huh? Didnโ€™t Hudson campaign for Vonnie in the play on Freybourneโ€™s side? And "Rose Queen," this play, was also arranged for Vonnie by Anton through a friend; it had nothing to do with Hudson. How come Hudson showed up at this party?

When Vonnie saw Hudson, she was also taken aback. โ€œHow did you come?โ€

Hudson first greeted Reynaldo respectfully, then bowed to the others. When asked about Johnathan, he coldly snorted, leaving Hudson completely baffled. Hudson inexplicably glanced at Vonnie and then respectfully asked Johnathan with a smile, โ€œMr. Dunlap, whatโ€™s the matter? Has our Vonnie offended you in some way?โ€

He was fine until he asked, but once he did, Johnathanโ€™s face darkened even more. Upon seeing Johnathanโ€™s expression, Hudson really thought that Vonnie had offended him. He quickly smiled at Johnathan and said, โ€œVonnie is straightforward and sometimes speaks without thinking. If she has offended you in any way, Mr. Dunlap, I apologize on her behalf.โ€

โ€œYou think youโ€™re somebody? Who do you think you are to apologize for her?โ€ As soon as Hudson finished speaking, Johnathan coldly snorted.

Vonnie was annoyed and said, โ€œIโ€™m really amused. Who do you think you are? Why should I apologize to you?โ€

After Vonnie said this, Hudson was immediately stunned, โ€œNo, Vonnie, what are you doing? Why are you talking to Mr. Dunlap like this? Quickly apologize to Mr. Dunlap!โ€

Vonnie snorted, โ€œHe was the one who bullied others first, he can apologize!โ€

Hudson was so anxious that sweat was dripping from his forehead.

I busily shouted to him, โ€œHudson, donโ€™t rush, come over here and sit down first.โ€

I had just finished shouting when Reynaldo glanced at me again, lightly and mockingly. Those eyes were slightly raised, as if mocking someone. I clenched my fist under the table and wanted to say to him, โ€œWhat are you looking at?!โ€ However, with so many people around, I felt embarrassed to confront him, so I just turned my face away and tried to avoid eye contact.

As soon as I called out, Hudson quickly turned around and took the empty seat next to Vonnie. As soon as he sat down, he grabbed Vonnieโ€™s arm and whispered in a low voice, โ€œYouโ€™re confused. Thatโ€™s Mr. Dunlap, the biggest investor in your current play. If you offend him, do you still want to do this play?โ€

โ€œThe investor isnโ€™t the only one, and besides, the roles have already been decided. He wouldnโ€™t change them just for me, would he?โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s hard to say!โ€

Hudson was thirsty, picked up the teacup in front of Vonnie, and instantly a cold glance shot over. This time it was not Reynaldoโ€™s gaze, but Johnathanโ€™s. Fortunately, Vonnieโ€™s cup of tea remained untouched. Otherwise, Johnathan was really going to explode; it was possible that he would even flip the table.

Vonnie ignored Johnathanโ€™s cold gaze and poured Hudson another cup of tea.

Hudson wiped the cold sweat off his forehead and whispered to Vonnie, โ€œCome on, listen to me, just apologize to Mr. Dunlap. I really went through a lot for you.โ€

As far as I know, the director of this play is Gilbert, and every play he directs is a hit.
