Chapter 94

He brushed off my dadโ€™s hand grabbing his arm without even looking at us and walked away.

โ€œReynaldo, Reynaldoโ€ฆโ€

My dad shouted several times in a row, but Reynaldo ignored him.

My dad finally lost his temper and rushed up again to grab him. โ€œReynaldo, you canโ€™t do this. Although you divorced our Ralda, I heard that she is still with you. Leaving aside everything else, you should at least pay her for sleeping with you.โ€

โ€œDad!โ€

I looked at my dad in disbelief, unable to believe that he would actually say such words. I was his own daughter, the precious pearl he once held in the palm of his hand. How could he disregard my dignity and say such things to Reynaldo? Whatโ€™s the difference between this and humiliating me?

But my dad, as if he hadnโ€™t heard my low growl, angrily said to Reynaldo, โ€œForget about everything else, if youโ€™re not married to my daughter anymore, then if you sleep with my daughter, you should at least give some compensation. Iโ€™m not saying Iโ€™ll ask for it, but I can at least borrow from you, right?โ€

Listening to my fatherโ€™s words, I became so angry that my whole body trembled, and tears kept streaming down my face.

Reynaldo glanced at me expressionlessly and sneered at my dad, โ€œShe can also choose not to let me sleep; the choice is hers.โ€

โ€œWhat do you mean by this, youโ€ฆ.โ€

My dad hadnโ€™t finished speaking when Ronan suddenly rushed out and shouted to Reynaldo, โ€œHurry up, your grandmother has come out of the emergency room, come quicklyโ€ฆโ€

Reynaldo, after hearing it, frowned and quickly walked toward the clinic.

My dad wanted to stop him, but I grabbed him and shouted, โ€œHave you had enough? How much more embarrassment do you want to bring upon yourself?โ€

โ€œWhat a disgrace; itโ€™s only embarrassing if you donโ€™t have money!โ€ My dad glared in the direction Reynaldo had left, angrily saying, โ€œI thought he was so good, so generous, but I didnโ€™t expect him to be so stingy. Since you canโ€™t gain anything by being with him, why are you still following him? Itโ€™s better to be with any other man than him!โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s enough! What do you take me for? I am your own daughter!โ€ I shouted at my dad, my voice hoarse.

My dad finally looked at me directly and then irritably said, โ€œDad naturally knows that you are Dadโ€™s own daughter; itโ€™s just that Dad was really furious just now, and what Dad said is also the truth. He was so heartless and ungrateful. He didnโ€™t even help us with this small favor. Why are you still following him around without any status or reputation? If you ask me, he refused to lend you money, so you left him. I remember that guy Winston, who used to be close to you beforeโ€ฆโ€

โ€œDad!โ€

I hissed and interrupted him, glaring at him with bloodshot eyes. He really completely disregards my dignity now. He even thinks about making me go after rich men for money. How is this any different from selling a daughter?

My heart was filled with sadness and pain. I trembled and pulled my dad, shouting at him, โ€œReynaldo has never owed our family a single penny. First, he paid off our debts and provided us with a place to live. Then, he lent you that ten million. He has already done more than enough for us. You are not allowed to bother him anymore!โ€

My father immediately scoffed, โ€œHe is so wealthy; what does it matter if he gives us that little money? Besides, if you were to be with another wealthy man, they would definitely give us more than this.โ€

โ€œSo, you were already thinking about selling your daughter now, right?โ€

My father immediately frowned and disapprovingly said, โ€œCan you not say such harsh words? Wasnโ€™t I just thinking that you should find a wealthy man and have a good life in the future? How can you call it selling your daughter?โ€

I laughed at myself, feeling sour and bitter in my heart. I realized that I couldnโ€™t explain it to my dad. My mom was right. My dadโ€™s current mindset is problematic, and even his values are distorted. Talking too much is useless.

I dragged my dad out of the hospital. Perhaps realizing that he couldnโ€™t borrow money from Reynaldo anymore, my dad stopped struggling as well. He let me drag him to the outside of the hospital, then squatted on the curb, holding his head in his hands, anxiously asking, โ€œWhat should we do now? If Reynaldo refuses to lend us money, who else can we turn to?โ€

I looked at him faintly, mocking myself in my heart.
