Chapter 156
โYeah,โ Rachel said.
Tyler lowered his gaze to Rachelโs eyes. โItโs nothing,โ he said casually. โIโve always had trouble sleeping. A sandalwood sachet helps a little.โ
Rachel suddenly recalled that time at the hospital when Tyler had asked her to sing. So that was the reason. Sheโd honestly thought he was messing with her. Then again, this man always had a twisted sense of humor.
Who wouldโve thought someone like him, who seemed so carefree, actually struggled with sleep?
The refereeโs voice was heard again.
โFifteen seconds left, everyone! Hang in there!โ
Not far away, Samantha clung tightly to William. She looked up and caught a glimpse of Rachel and Tyler.
โWilliam, I think Rachel and Mr. Hunt might really win this time,โ she said.
William glanced over, following Samanthaโs line of sight. When his gaze landed on Tylerโs hand, his expression immediately turned sour.
Samantha noticed his displeasure and tried to defend Rachel. โDonโt get the wrong idea, William. Iโm sure Mr. Hunt and Rachel are just focused on winning the challenge. Look at how packed it is. Everyoneโs practically wrapped around someone else.โ
Williamโs expression hadnโt looked that bad before, but after hearing Samantha say that, his expression soured even more. His jaw clenched tightly.
Samantha patted his arm in an attempt to calm him down. โAlright, alright, let Rachel explain things to you later.โ
Leon, who stood beside Rachel, took the initiative to speak up. โRachel, do you need a hand? If youโre feeling unsteady, just let me know.โ
Rachel declined politely. โIโm fine, thanks.โ
Leon looked slightly disappointed but didnโt say anything else.
Others had already begun falling off the platform. This challenge was no joke. It really tested oneโs balance.
Rachel was also struggling a bit. She stole a glance over at Ceciliaโs group and noticed something odd. Their group had a lot of heavier people.
Half of them hadnโt even managed to get on the platform, but the rules were strict. As long as even one person in your group hadnโt made it up, you lost.
Rachel could tell Ceciliaโs group didnโt stand a chance. That only strengthened her determination to win.
The referee checked the timer. โAlright! Timeโs up! And the winner is Group 2!โ
Rachel let out a sigh of relief. She released Tyler and stepped down. Cheers erupted from Group 2.
The other groups groaned in disappointment.
โI told you we shouldโve switched to Group 2. None of you believed me. With Mr. Hunt in the mix, it was a guaranteed win!โ
โDo you guys know what I just saw? I swear I saw Mr. Hunt holding Ms. Lloyd by the waist!โ
โWhoa, are you shipping them now?โ
โWhy not? Mr. Hunt and Ms. Lloyd totally looked good together!โ
โExactly! Itโs not like weโre asking them to get married or something. People used to ship Mr. Lewis and Samantha too.โ

โWell, Samanthaโs got that cute, youthful charm going on. Who doesnโt like that? Just a tiny pout from her and I feel like my heartโs melting.โ
โHey, thatโs kind of pathetic, man.โ
Hearing all the gossip, Rachel instinctively stepped away from Tyler.
She walked over to Cecilia, who looked at them with open envy.
โYour group got so lucky. Everyoneโs slim. I swear I saw Mr. Hunt holding up half your team by himself. Tall guys really have the advantage,โ Cecilia said.
Rachel froze. โWait, what? You saw Mr. Hunt supporting half our group?โ
Cecilia nodded. โHow else did you all stay up there that long? Didnโt you see the other groups? Most of them hit the ground ages ago.โ
It finally hit Rachel what Tyler meant when he said that with him there, theyโd definitely win.
At the time, sheโd thought he was just bragging. With so many people involved, it didnโt seem like something he could control. Rachel instinctively glanced in Tylerโs direction.
He was sitting off to the side like nothing had happened. He casually retrieved a cigarette from his pocket and lit it up. His long, well-defined fingers held the cigarette loosely as he tapped off the ash over the armrest.
