Chapter 217
Rachel gave a satisfied smile. โI didnโt expect to find such great coffee near the hospital.โ
She had been here a few times but never expected the coffee served in such an ordinary-looking place could be so good.
Xavier said half-jokingly, โHave you heard the saying? Small shops are always generous with their ingredients.โ
Rachel couldnโt hold back a chuckle. That statement seemed to ring true.
Just then, Xavierโs phone rang. He glanced at the phone screen and looked around before waving his hand.
โOver here.โ
Rachel followed his gaze and saw Tyler walking toward them.
His good looks were attention-grabbing as usual, no matter where he went. The ladies in the cafe, who originally had their attention on their coffees, couldnโt help but stare at him the moment he walked in.
โHeโs so handsome!โ
โI can sense from the aura he exudes that heโs rich. He looks just like my ideal type.โ
โI havenโt seen such a good-looking man for a long time.โ
โWhat should I do? I suddenly find my husband so ugly; I feel like vomiting.โ
Rachel had a strong urge to change seats when she heard what all the ladies in the cafe were muttering under their breaths. It meant that the moment Tyler sat down, they would become the center of everyoneโs attention.
Rachel didnโt like that feeling.
The moment Tyler sat down, she asked, โCan we talk somewhere else?โ
Tyler didnโt sense anything wrong and leaned casually against the back of the chair, looking as though he was right at home.
โWhy change? This isnโt bad.โ
Rachel sat up straight and leaned in closer to Tyler, whispering, โDid you realize how many people have been staring at you the moment you walked in? Reporters are everywhere right now. Weโd be in trouble if they find us here.โ
Tyler covered his mouth and coughed, looking composed.
โYouโll have to get used to this. This happens no matter where I go. Are you really going to keep changing places because of how people look at you? What you need to do is make others get used to you instead of you getting used to others. Got that?โ
Hearing that, Rachel was thunderstruck.
What others cared about had always been important to her.
Her mother had raised her not to be selfish and to consider other peopleโs feelings.
Now that Rachel was older and had experienced some things, she was beginning to think more about herself.
However, she couldnโt go to the extent of caring only for herself, like Tyler. He cared naught for what others felt.
That wasnโt all that bad. Life was short and tough. There was indeed no point in living based on what others thought.
And so, Rachel gave up on the idea of changing seats.
Tyler crossed his legs and said in all seriousness, โRachel, very soon, itโll be a double whammy for you from both the Lewis and Lloyd families. You better be prepared.โ
Rachel frowned. โWhatโs this got to do with the Lloyd family?โ
โYale updated me that Williamโs mother read the news online and rushed to your family home to demand an explanation.โ
Rachelโs eyes widened as she stood up in shock. โWhat did you just say?!โ
Tyler smirked. โDid you really think Williamโs mother would just sit at home and do nothing after something so major happened?โ
Rachel stood up and grabbed her bag. โI need to go home right now!โ
