Since Rachelโ€™s mother was extremely strict with her, most of her time had been spent studying. She had only occasionally heard her mother mention someone like Tyler.

When Tyler heard her words, he looked at her with surprise. The man who was always calm and unreadable actually showed a flicker of emotion in his eyes for once.

โ€œDo you know how to make meatballs?โ€

Plenty of people knew how to make meatballs, but no one had ever managed to recreate the flavor of Rachelโ€™s motherโ€™s version. Her meatballs were the best he had ever tasted in his life.

The moment Rachel saw Tylerโ€™s reaction, she knew she had made the right gamble.

She had never made any meatballs for William because he hated them. She didnโ€™t know if she could recreate her motherโ€™s flavor, but that didnโ€™t stop her. With full confidence, she nodded.

โ€œI do.โ€

Tyler immediately said, โ€œLetโ€™s go.โ€

Rachel hadnโ€™t expected him to agree so quickly.

โ€˜Did he just say yes?โ€™

But then came another issue. She pointed toward the street below.

โ€œThere are still so many reporters outside. How are we supposed to get out?โ€

Tyler thought for a moment. He then said to the receptionist, โ€œFind Yale. Tell him to put on my suit and a hat. Just make sure no one gets a clear look at his face.โ€

The receptionist immediately understood Tylerโ€™s plan. Yale would be a decoy. โ€œIโ€™ll get on it right away.โ€

Rachel and Tyler stood together by the floor-to-ceiling windows and watched Yale, now dressed in a suit, walk confidently out the front door of the company.

In an instant, the reporters swarmed toward him like a pack of starving wolves.

Tyler tilted his head toward Rachel and jerked his chin. โ€œLetโ€™s go.โ€

Rachel glanced down at Yale below and shivered before following Tyler. โ€œPoor Yale. Those reporters are going to eat him alive.โ€

Tyler pressed the elevator call button and glanced sideways at her. โ€œWant to take his place?โ€

Rachel quickly waved her hands. โ€œNo thanks.โ€

If she and Tyler went down together right now, she didnโ€™t even want to imagine the scene that would unfold. Theyโ€™d be completely surrounded. She was sure the reporters would stop at nothing to catch them together.

The elevator doors opened. Tyler stepped in first. As soon as the doors closed, the employees outside immediately huddled together and started whispering.

โ€œOh my god, thatโ€™s wild. Whatโ€™s going on between Mr. Hunt and Ms. Lloyd?โ€

โ€œHow would I know?โ€

โ€œCould the rumors be true? Are Mr. Hunt and Ms. Lloyd actually seeing each other?โ€

โ€œShh! Donโ€™t say that. Just hearing it makes me nervous. Isnโ€™t Ms. Lloyd still married?โ€

โ€œWho knows? Maybe itโ€™s just gossip. Itโ€™s not like Mr. Hunt hasnโ€™t had women try to latch onto him before.โ€

โ€œExactly. Remember those women who tried to get headlines with Mr. Hunt? Their stories didnโ€™t even last a day before getting taken down.โ€

โ€œSo this is basically the first time a woman has made it into a real scandal with Mr. Hunt.โ€

โ€œUgh, Iโ€™m so jealous. If I could ever be photographed in the same room as Mr. Hunt, I could die happy.โ€

Inside the elevator, Rachel stared at the floor numbers dropping and suddenly remembered โ€“ she still hadnโ€™t called Cecilia.

If William asked her about it later and she didnโ€™t have her story straight, it would blow up fast.

As soon as the elevator door opened, she reached for her phone to call Cecilia, but Williamโ€™s name suddenly appeared on the screen.

Rachelโ€™s heart skipped a beat.
