Chapter 260

โ€œYou have two options. Either crash in the guest room next door or drive my car,โ€ Tyler said.

โ€œYou mean that limited edition one?โ€ Rachel asked reflexively.

โ€œYeah. Thatโ€™s the one I drove here. I donโ€™t usually stay at this place, so the other cars arenโ€™t here.โ€

For a moment, Rachel was touched that Tyler was actually willing to let her drive such an expensive car.

But the next second, Tyler pulled open the bathroom door and casually remarked, โ€œBut youโ€™ll have to come back tomorrow morning to pick me up. Itโ€™s hard to get a cab from here in the morning.โ€

The door shut with a soft click.

Rachel covered her face with both hands. It felt like the world was collapsing.

Maybe she should just drive over tomorrow night. But with how paranoid William had become lately, who knew if heโ€™d tampered with her car?

No matter how she looked at it, she couldnโ€™t think of a proper solution.

The sound of running water came from the bathroom. Without realizing it, Rachelโ€™s gaze drifted toward the frosted glass window where Tylerโ€™s silhouette was faintly visible.

She couldnโ€™t see clearly, but she could make out his tall frame and the lean lines of his body. Rachelโ€™s mind started to fill in the details, especially his abs.

โ€œDamn it!!โ€

When Tyler finally stepped out, Rachel quickly turned around at the sound of the door opening and pretended to feed Ray like nothing happened.

Soon enough, she suddenly remembered something and spun around to look at him.

โ€œYour wounds havenโ€™t healed yet. How could you take a shower?โ€

She had been too busy checking out his physique earlier and had completely forgotten he was still injured.

Tyler casually grabbed a towel to dry his wet hair and said with complete indifference, โ€œItโ€™s fine. Iโ€™ll just re-dress it later.โ€

โ€œThe doctor told you clearly that your wound isnโ€™t supposed to get wet yet.โ€

Rachel frowned and walked over. She gently pulled at the gauze. The area where the wound was had turned pale and soaked.

Thankfully, there was no bleeding. She let out a sigh of relief.

โ€œIโ€™ll redo the dressing for you. And youโ€™re not going to take a shower for a week, got it?โ€

If Tyler hadnโ€™t taken that knife for her, she honestly wouldnโ€™t even want to deal with someone as stubborn as him.

She went downstairs to get the first aid kit.

Meanwhile, Tyler sat cross-legged on the carpet. He pulled a biscuit from the treat bag and offered it to Ray. Ray eagerly trotted over.

He was either talking to himself or Ray. He seemed a little lost in thought.

โ€œDo you think she was worried about me?โ€

Ray barked twice.

Tyler smiled as he patted Rayโ€™s head. The usual coldness in his eyes was replaced by an unexpected gentleness.

โ€œYou felt it too, didnโ€™t you?โ€

Ray didnโ€™t respond. He just kept staring at the treat in Tylerโ€™s hand.

Realizing Ray wasnโ€™t paying attention at all, Tyler smiled. โ€œTalking to you is like talking to a brick wall.โ€

Rayโ€™s eyes remained locked on the treat. Tyler held it out, and just as Ray was about to chomp down, he pulled it back and dropped it back in the bag.

โ€œDidnโ€™t get it? Not my fault.โ€

Rachel happened to walk in just in time to see the whole thing. With the first aid kit in hand, she said flatly, โ€œRayโ€™s got manners. Canโ€™t say the same for you.โ€

Ray barked in agreement.

Rachel chuckled and covered her mouth. โ€œSee? Even Rayโ€™s got beef with you. Youโ€™ve gone too far.โ€

Tyler raised a brow. โ€œAnd now youโ€™re teaming up with Ray to gang up on me? How is that fair?โ€

Rachel opened the kit and pulled out fresh gauze.

โ€œIโ€™m just calling it like it is.โ€
