Listen to this chapter:

Sasha was rendered speechless. She didnโ€™t expect Rachel to suddenly bring this up.

Rachel wasnโ€™t sure if Yvette understood what she was getting at, but the look on Yvetteโ€™s face changed.

Sasha noticed it as well and dragged Yvette over.

โ€œYvette, tell Rachel whether you like Mr. Hunt or not."

Without a second thought, Yvette blurted out, โ€œOf course I do! Heโ€™s so handsome, who wouldnโ€™t like him? Iโ€™m sure you canโ€™t find a woman in the whole of Yurelia who doesnโ€™t fancy him.โ€

Rachel pursed her lips. โ€œSays who? I donโ€™t like him.โ€

Tyler had a sharp tongue that even Rachel found hard to handle, not to mention Yvette with her fragile ego. Rachel wasnโ€™t jokingโ€“Yvette would probably break down in tears with just a few harsh words from him.

Yvette, however, clearly didnโ€™t believe Rachelโ€™s claim.

โ€œRachel, weโ€™re family. Why bother putting up a front before me? If you donโ€™t like Mr. Hunt, why did you sneak into his house behind Williamโ€™s back? Mr. Hunt was just done with his shower. What were you two doing together?โ€

Yvette didnโ€™t like Rachel to begin with. She knew they were probably treating her as a shield, calling for her to clean up their mess after they had their fun. They would always deal her the shorter end of the stick.

Rachel looked at the expression on Yvetteโ€™s face and knew that her mind was in the gutter.

โ€œCan you please get that out of your mind? Must a man and woman be engaged in those kinds of activities when theyโ€™re alone?โ€

However, Yvette was bent on getting to the bottom of things. โ€œWhat were you two doing, then?โ€

โ€œDiscussing something!โ€ Rachel bit out.

Yvette refused to believe her. โ€œOh, so you two were just discussing something, and then Mr. Hunt took a shower!โ€

โ€œYvette, thatโ€™s your sisterโ€™s business. It has nothing to do with you. Mind your own business,โ€ Jim said as he came down the stairs.

Yvette knew that her father had always cared for Rachel and always put her first in many things. She just didnโ€™t understand. She was supposed to be the legitimate daughter of the Lloyds. What right did Rachel have to snatch the love that belonged to her?

Yvette stomped her feet with frustration. โ€œDad, youโ€™re being biased!โ€

โ€œYou always get the best of everything, and you even went over the limit of your credit card last month. Meanwhile, your sister has never taken a cent from our family,โ€ Jim retorted.

Yvette was rendered speechless by his words.

Rachelโ€™s eyes softened as she looked at her father. โ€œDad.โ€

Jim nodded. โ€œYouโ€™re back.โ€

โ€œYeah, back to see Mom.โ€

This was probably her last time visiting her mother.

Jim subconsciously glanced behind Rachel. โ€œWilliam didnโ€™t come with you?โ€

Rachel stood stunned for a moment, but recovered quickly and said, โ€œI didnโ€™t tell him I was coming back.โ€

William was probably busy keeping Samantha company and didnโ€™t have time for her. What was the point of forcing him?

โ€œI called him yesterday and told him about it. He said he would come,โ€ Jim said.

Rachelโ€™s face turned dark with displeasure. โ€œDad, why did you ask him to come?โ€

Jim could see at a glance that something was wrong. He walked downstairs and stood before Rachel.

โ€œAre you two fighting? Is it because of Tyler? I read the report just now and saw that Tyler has admitted it himself. The misunderstanding between you and William should be resolved. Whatโ€™s more, you two have been together for so many years. You two should trust each other,โ€ he said, concerned.

Rachel naturally didnโ€™t want her affairs with William to bother Jim. What was more, she didnโ€™t want to look like a complete joke in front of Yvette and Sasha.

โ€œNo, heโ€™s just been very busy working with foreign companies recently.โ€

Jim patted Rachelโ€™s shoulder comfortingly.

โ€œTalk things out between you two if thereโ€™s anything. Donโ€™t fight. You two have been married for seven years. Maintaining a marriage for that long ainโ€™t easy.โ€

Rachel knew her father was being long-winded, but she nodded obediently anyway. โ€œOkay.โ€

Yvette leaned in close to Rachel, trying to glean some gossip.

โ€œRachel, did William ask you about being at Mr. Huntโ€™s house yesterday? He doesnโ€™t even know about your momโ€™s tomb getting moved. You two must be fighting! If thatโ€™s really the case, I can explain things to him.โ€
