Listen to this chapter:

Rachel didnโ€™t want anything to crop up at this critical juncture. If her grandfather were to find out that she had private dealings with Tyler, he might just break her legs.

Tyler threw Rachel a seemingly careless glance, but from the corner of her eye, she could sense his gaze resting on her for at least three to four seconds. Those few seconds were surely enough for some of them to notice something.

Tyler smirked and said in a low voice, โ€œSinging.โ€

Jim was surprised to hear that. โ€œSinging? This is my first time hearing of something like that. Iโ€™ve heard of other treatment methods, home remedies, and even needle therapy, but Iโ€™ve never heard of singing as a form of treatment. Does playing any song work?โ€

Tyler hummed pensively before answering, โ€œI donโ€™t think so. Someone has to sing it. Songs played over a speaker wonโ€™t work.โ€

Sasha hurriedly jumped in. โ€œMr. Hunt, Yvette is a pretty good singer. Why donโ€™t you let her sing you some songs when itโ€™s convenient for you?โ€

Yvette hurried over to Tyler, eagerly showing off her skills. โ€œYes, Mr. Hunt! I can sing very well. I even won an award for singing when I was in university. Let me sing something for you.โ€

With that, Yvette broke into a song, her voice clear and melodious as that of a nightingale. Rachel genuinely thought that Yvette could sing better than her.

She suddenly wished that Yvette could sing for Tyler in her place. That way, she wouldnโ€™t exactly be breaching the contract. There shouldnโ€™t be a problem if Yvette replaced her. That should be legitimate, especially since Yvette was her sister as much as Yvette refused to admit that.

Yvette paused after a few lines. Everyone waited for Tylerโ€™s take with bated breath. Rachel thought Tyler felt every bit like a judge, holding everyoneโ€™s destinies in his hands. Yvette was looking anxiously and expectantly at Tyler. Would she live to regret pinning all her hopes on a man?

The only person Rachel would pin her hopes on in the future was herself.

Tyler responded very seriously, his solemn tone thickening the tension in the air. โ€œYes, you do sing very well.โ€

A flare of hope illuminated Yvetteโ€™s eyes as they lit up. โ€œReally? In that caseโ€ฆโ€

โ€œThatโ€™s the thing, you sing way too well. I prefer someone who sings badly.โ€

Tyler smirked wickedly before shooting Rachel a seductive smile. โ€œIsnโ€™t that so, Ms. Lloyd?โ€

His sudden mention of Rachelโ€™s name made everyone turn their attention to her. Rachel felt as though she was pinned to the wall. Her mind went blank as her brain failed her. She could only stare at Tyler in a daze.

William was the first to ask Rachel a question. โ€œWhat does this have to do with you?โ€

Rachel was at a loss for words, feeling tongue-tied. โ€œIโ€ฆโ€

Yvette looked displeased. โ€œYeah, Rachel! How did you know about Mr. Huntโ€™s problem?โ€

Chapter 277

Jim didnโ€™t want Rachel getting too close to Tyler. He didnโ€™t know Tyler very well, but he knew for a fact that Tyler wasnโ€™t a simple man and probably very scheming. He considered himself a good judge of character, but Tyler was one of those whom he couldnโ€™t quite see through.

โ€œRachel, whatโ€™s going on? Tell me,โ€ he asked.
