Rachelโs gaze was wary as she stared at Tyler. Her voice turned cold. โMr. Hunt, whatโs this supposed to mean? Are you going to stop me too?โ
Tyler looked at her and smiled. โNow that youโve wrapped up your business with them, donโt you think itโs time we settled ours?โ
Rachelโs pupils contracted slightly. Her heart clenched. She knew that once Tyler showed up, there was no escaping. She did owe him an explanation.
Well, since sheโd already run into him, there was no running now. All she could do was face it head-on.
โFine. But youโll have to help me get out of here.โ
She glanced at Sasha and Yvette. Those two looked like they were ready to tear her apart. There was no way theyโd just let her walk out so easily.
Tylerโs gaze was solemn. Beneath his calm exterior lurked a quiet intensity. โRachel, are you trying to use me again?โ
Her back went stiff. A chill ran down her spine. She couldnโt help but feel a little guilty. At this point, she had no other option.
โWell, since you already think I used you once, whatโs one more time, right? Help me or not, itโs your call.โ
Tylerโs brows furrowed. His voice became even colder. โAnd what if I say no?โ
Rachel smirked before shrugging helplessly. โThen I guess you wonโt be settling that score with me today.โ
Tyler noticed how relaxed she appeared. She seemed completely unconcerned about whether sheโd make it out of the Lloyd family estate in one piece.
He let out an amused scoff. โAre you latching onto me now?โ
Rachel smiled a little. โSorry to trouble you, Mr. Hunt.โ
A moment later, Tyler stood up straight and dropped his hand.
Yvette gasped at the sight. โMr. Hunt, what are youโโ
Tyler turned around and politely addressed Sasha. โSasha, Iโve got some business at the office that needs my attention. Iโll be heading out.โ
Then he exchanged a look with Rachel and gave her a subtle nod. She understood instantly and began walking toward him. She was prepared to leave with him.
Yvette, seeing this, felt a surge of rage rise up in her chest.
She turned and shouted at the maids, โStop Rachel! Grab those documents from her!โ
The maids immediately swarmed toward Rachel.
Rachel clutched the papers tightly, refusing to let go.
Just as they were about to engulf her, Tyler yanked Rachel behind him.
โDonโt you dare!โ His voice thundered through the hall like a clap of lightning, powerful and commanding.
The maids froze and exchanged nervous glances. They were too afraid to make a move.
Sasha realized things were going sideways. Her expression darkened as her tone turned grim. โMr. Hunt, this is our family matter. Please stay out of it.โ
Tyler gripped Rachelโs slender wrist and looked up. โWell, I have a score to settle with her. So how about you push your family matter back a bit?โ
His voice was calm, but Sasha could feel the unshakable authority beneath it.
Still, she tried to salvage the situation. If Rachel walked out with those documents, it could ruin everything for her and Yvette.
Sasha narrowed her eyes and forced herself to speak. โAs long as Rachel hands over what sheโs holding, weโll let her leave.โ
Tyler turned to Rachel and asked politely, โWould you like to hand it over?โ
Rachel answered bluntly, โNo.โ
Tyler spread his hands and gave a helpless shrug. โWell, you heard her. She said no.โ
