Chapter 361
Tyler immediately sensed something amiss from the look in Rachelโs eyes. He rubbed his wrist and sighed.
โErase those filthy thoughts from your mind. Iโm not interested in her.โ
โI didnโt think youโd have such bad taste,โ Rachel retorted with a pout.
Tyler smirked; he pulled Rachel into his arms and whispered into her ear, โWhat kind of woman should I fancy to be considered to have good taste?โ
His voice was smooth and rich, his hot breath spewing against her ear; it gave her goosebumps.
She looked up, straight into his gorgeous dark eyes. They were in such close proximity, she felt the air getting thick with suspense.
Tyler may look aloof and indifferent, but there was something in his deep, dark eyes that gave him the impression of a dedicated, devoted lover.
Rachel calmed herself down before pushing him away.
โMr. Hunt, please mind your distance.โ
Tyler chuckled, his gaze looking effortlessly seductive as he said suggestively, โI didnโt see you behaving so sensibly when I kissed you earlier.โ
Rachelโs heart raced at his remark.
Suddenly, Samantha called out once more. โMr. Hunt, Iโm coming in!โ
Rachelโs eyes widened, on high alert. She instinctively turned to look at Tyler.
โDidnโt you say that there was nothing between you and Samantha? Why does she have the passcode to your house?โ
Confusion flashed past Tylerโs eyes. With a shrug, he said, โWould you believe me if I told you I had no idea, too?โ
โOf course not!โ
Rachel suddenly realized she had trusted Tyler too much.
She had no idea what he had been through in the past five years. Who could guarantee that he did not remain in contact with Samantha during that time?
Tyler had always been a private person. He would never casually tell others the passcode to his house.
Or had he reconciled with the Lewis family?
Rachelโs guard was up; she looked at him again, instinctively taking a step away from him.
Tyler, sensing the trepidation and doubt in her eyes, frowned. He glanced upstairs and said, โHead up first.โ
Rachel rushed up the stairs in a hurry, with no time to further question Tyler.
At the same time, Samantha opened the door and stepped in.
Tyler stood right there, his hair still dripping wet. His brows were tightly knit, betraying his anger.
Samantha froze where she was, realizing that she had come at a bad time.
But since she was already here, she had to bite the bullet. She forced a smile on her face as she greeted Tyler.
โUโUncleโฆโ
Tyler flicked the water droplets on his shoulder away, not bothering to deign Samantha even a glance.
โMrs. Lewis,โ he said icily, โcall me Mr. Hunt instead. The Lewises have never acknowledged me as a member of their family.โ
The smile froze on Samanthaโs face. โUncleโฆMr. Hunt, you kid.โ
Tyler grabbed a mop from the washroom to clean up the mess his dog left behind.
โMrs. Lewis, speak your mind if you have something to say. I need to get changed soon.โ
Looking around her, Samantha saw two sets of cutlery and some very familiarโlooking dishes on the table.
Samantha vaguely remembered William telling her that Rachel loved eating spicy food.
One particular thing Rachel liked doing whenever she cooked was to decorate her food with two leaves, be it coriander or parsley.
The dishes on the table themselves werenโt suspicious, but the meatballsโฆ
It was rumored that meatballs were Tylerโs favorite. He even went around all the restaurants in Yurelia City in search of the perfect meatballs, but none were to his taste.
