William heaved a sigh of relief when he saw Rachel still well-kempt, although he couldnโt hide the scowl on his face upon seeing her at Tylerโs place.
โWhat are you doing here?โ he demanded.
Rachel didnโt expect to see William here. Five years ago, there were a few times when she saw William coming to Tylerโs place, but given her status back then, she had to hide from William.
However, things were different now. She was single, and it was none of Williamโs business who she was with or whose house she was at.
She said darkly to William, โWhat does it matter to you?โ
Williamโs brows were tightly knit as he grabbed Rachelโs wrist, a storm brewing in his eyes.
โRachel, donโt forget. Weโre husband and wifeโฆโ
โWeโre divorced, and you still call us husband and wife? Are you still drunk?โ
Rachel didnโt want to waste her breath on him. Seeing William never failed to sour her mood.
โAlright, cut the crap. I donโt have time to waste on you.โ
With that, Rachel made a move to shut the door.
Right before the door shut, William grabbed the door frame. โIโm not here for you. Iโm here for Mr. Fun.โ
He wasnโt exactly sure whether Rachel knew that Tyler was his uncle. If she was still in the dark, there was no need for him to offer her the information.
He understood Rachelโs ability at work, and Tyler was even more outstanding in that aspect. In their hands, they would be more intimidating than two wolves prowling together!
There was only one way he could make Rachel submit.
It was simply unfortunate that Jim was Rachelโs only kin left in this world. He wouldnโt stoop to targeting Jim if Rachel had another family member.
Meanwhile, Rachel knew that she couldnโt turn William away. He was here to look for Tyler; this was Tylerโs place, not her own.
She stepped aside and let William in.
William smirked, but the moment he stepped in, Ray dashed out, charging straight toward him.
Ray was strong enough to run William over and send him crashing to the floor. Pinning William down on the ground, Ray started barking at him.
Ray was a massive dog and certainly intimidating when provoked, despite how meek and gentle he usually looked.
Williamโs brows furrowed, and his face darkened with displeasure. He flailed his arms about frantically, trying to get Ray off himself.
Chapter 415
โGet off me!โ
Rachel saw Williamโs face turning pale with fright. She knew that he was once bitten by their neighborโs dog when he was young, and that traumatic experience left a minor phobia of dogs in him.
Rachel deliberately let Ray be in a bid to frighten William.
Serves him right!
However, Rachel noticed that Ray was starting to bare its teeth and showing signs of aggressiveness. She was worried that Ray might really end up biting William.
She didnโt care whether William died or not, but she cared about Ray. The poor dog might end up getting beaten to death by the Lewis family.
It was better to be safe than sorry.
And so, Rachel called out to Ray. โCome here, buddy.โ
Ray had always adored Rachel, and the new snacks she had been bringing recently made him like her even more.
Rachelโs voice made Ray pounce on her at once. She rubbed his head affectionately and said sardonically, โDonโt bite him. Heโs toxic. What if biting him kills you?โ
Rachelโs words seemed to frighten Ray, and he shrank back behind her legs. He stared at her, eyes glistening with fear and trepidation.
Rachel suddenly found the sight hilarious.
William was stunned, sensing something amiss with the scene before him.
He stood up, a chilly, menacing aura emanating from him as though he were Hades himself.
