Chapter 472
Xavier elbowed Tyler.
โCome on, show some restraint.โ
Tyler took a puff of his cigarette before looking back at Xavier in disdain.
โAn old geezer like you wouldnโt understand the kind of energy young people like I have. Drink more chamomile tea when you have nothing better to do.โ
Xavier said huffily, โQuit talking down on me. Also, Iโm not an old geezer. Iโm a middle-aged geezer. Youโre not my wife, so how would you know my level of energy in that regard? You rascalโฆโ
Tyler chuckled but said nothing.
Xavier fell silent. Standing next to Tyler, he opened his mouth again to explain.
โIโm in great shape. Ask my wife if you donโt believe meโฆโ
Tyler looked like he couldnโt care less; he took a step back and widened the distance between them.
โI donโt benefit even if youโre in great shape. Why bother explaining yourself to me?โ
Xavier was rendered speechless. He opened his mouth to retort again, but didnโt know what to say and eventually gave up, defeated by Tylerโs sharp tongue.
Forget itโhe was certainly noโฆ
Rachel walked out of the room after she was done with the scan. Xavier pointed wordlessly at Tyler before pulling the curtain open and walking in.
One look at Xavierโs expression was enough to tell Rachel that the poor man had suffered under Tylerโs verbal attacks.
Tyler was capable of infuriating others, yet there was nothing one could do to him.
โWhat did you say to provoke Dr. Jenkins?โ Rachel asked out of curiosity.
โI didnโt provoke him. He was just arguing with me about his physical strength. I told him I didnโt care, since it didnโt benefit me even if he was in good shape,โ Tyler said, clearly thinking he was in the right.
Rachel was at a loss for what to say.
Tylerโs words were indeed rather offensive. Yet, she couldnโt pinpoint what exactly was wrong with what he said.
Since she was admittedly less sharp-tongued than Tyler, she decided not to kick up a fuss lest she became the one embarrassed instead.
Xavier walked out with a report in hand.
โThe bone isnโt considered injured, but there was a slight impact to it. Rest up and take some health tonic. Come to my consultation room and Iโll prescribe you some ointment to reduce inflammation.โ
Rachel heaved a sigh of relief. โThank you, Dr. Jenkins.โ
Xavier walked her to his consultation room.
โItโs right to be careful about bone-related injuries, especially since itโs not something visible to the naked eye. Last month, a young lady came to us because she was knocked by a car. She wasn't in much pain at that time, but one week later, she experienced such grievous pain she had to come back again for another check. That was when we realized that her bone had shifted in position. Thankfully, our best orthopedic surgeon was around, or she would have been in grave condition.โ
Xavierโs words sent a chill down Rachelโs spine. She instinctively turned to look at Tyler, who was looking back at her and tilting his chin toward her.
โYou donโt believe me, but you believe him when he says the sameโฆโ
