Chapter 501

Rachel and Cecilia returned to their seats. Rachel cleared her throat, sat upright, and assumed a serious, businesslike demeanor as she spoke to Tyler.

โ€œMr. Hunt, you mentioned you came to discuss a potential partnership. May I ask which project youโ€™re interested in?โ€

Tyler raised his brows slightly, a faint smirk playing at the corners of his lips. His slender fingers tapped gently against the table.

โ€œOh? You actually thought I came here to talk business?โ€

Rachel tilted her head. โ€œIf not to talk business, Mr. Hunt, then what? Do you want to take a nap and have me tell you a ghost story on the spot?โ€

Tyler leaned back in his chair like a man with all the time and money in the world. โ€œArenโ€™t you aware of your companyโ€™s current situation? Youโ€™re not even qualified to collaborate with us.โ€

Rachel glanced at Cecilia and gave her a subtle signal. Cecilia quickly pulled out a folder and handed it to Rachel, who then slid it across the table to Tyler.

โ€œMr. Hunt, perhaps you can take a look at my proposal first, then decide if itโ€™s worth your time.โ€

Tyler didnโ€™t even bother sitting up. He hooked a finger under the folderโ€™s edge and flipped it open for a glance.

Cecilia was starting to sweat. She thought Rachel was being far too bold. This project was one Rachel had personally worked on before. It was niche and maybe even ahead of its time.

At present, there were no comparable projects in the domestic market. If the market couldnโ€™t be developed properly, the investment could go up in smoke.

Investment projects werenโ€™t childโ€™s play.

Cecilia held her breath watching Rachel lay it out so abruptly in front of Tyler.

Meanwhile, a group of employees near the conference room door had already been watching the scene unfold.

โ€œMs. Rachel seriously overestimates herself. With our companyโ€™s weight, does she really think weโ€™re good enough to work with the biggest company in Yurelia City?โ€

โ€œExactly. Sheโ€™s putting on a show. Some people just like to act rich even when thereโ€™s barely a hundred bucks in their pocket.โ€

โ€œActing is one thing, but if she crashes and burns later, itโ€™ll be ugly.โ€

โ€œIf the guy sheโ€™s pitching to were some fat cat or a sleazy bald executive, maybe sheโ€™d have a chance. But come on, this is Mr. Hunt! Heโ€™s not just anyone.โ€

โ€œRight. Mr. Hunt is infamous for being impossible to please. Unless youโ€™ve really got skills, even sending a pretty face wonโ€™t move him.โ€

โ€œJust watch. Sheโ€™s going to humiliate herself so badly. I almost canโ€™t bear to look.โ€

Tyler hadnโ€™t even finished reading yet, and already his brows were furrowed. His fingertips, which rested on the table, began to tap rhythmically.

The sound made Cecilia more and more anxious. Rachel, on the other hand, remained calm as ever.

After a few moments, Tyler tossed the folder onto the table with a loud thud. The cover hit the surface hard and made a shrill sound.

Rachelโ€™s clear, determined eyes didnโ€™t budge. Her gaze locked on Tyler with unwavering confidence. The overhead lights cast shadows from her lashes onto her poised face.

Tyler pursed his lips as if considering something important.

โ€œMs. Rachel, you just took over the company, and youโ€™re already playing this big?โ€

Rachel narrowed her eyes slightly. If one looked closer, they would see the ambition burning deep in her eyes.

โ€œMr. Hunt, I wonโ€™t deny that the project is niche, but the potential is huge. If it really takes off, both your company and mine wonโ€™t have to worry about growth for the next ten years.โ€

It was like giving both companies an insurance policy.
