Her Exit 505

Listen to this chapter:

Rachel and Cecilia walked into the office. Rachelโ€™s voice was cold and indifferent, carrying a commanding presence that filled the room.

โ€œIโ€™m sure everyone has seen the company announcement. Sharon didnโ€™t resign for no reason. She deliberately tried to sabotage our relationship with our partner company. She knew full well that we were seeking collaboration with LS Enterprise, yet she still went behind our backs and tried to drive a wedge between us and Mr. Hunt.

โ€œIf she had succeeded, and Mr. Hunt pulled out due to misunderstandings about my character, who would bear the consequences of that loss?โ€

Rachelโ€™s words left everyone in the office speechless.

Among the crowd, Yvette glanced down at her freshly manicured nails and said softly, โ€œCould it be that you targeted Sharon just because she was one of my people? No matter what, Sharon was a long-time employee. Firing her like thisโ€“wonโ€™t it chill the hearts of everyone else here?โ€

The office, which had just quieted down, instantly erupted again because of Yvetteโ€™s words.

โ€œSheโ€™s got a point. Sharonโ€™s out today. What if one of us is next?โ€

โ€œStop it, youโ€™re scaring me! Iโ€™m already panicking.โ€

โ€œRight? If just a few words can get you fired, weโ€™re all walking on eggshells now. Who knows when one of us will end up jobless?โ€

โ€œClassic new leadership moveโ€“come in strong to set the tone. Looks like Ms. Rachelโ€™s setting an example.โ€

Cecilia rolled her eyes and glared at Yvette. That woman really knew how to fan the flames.

Rachel simply cast Yvette a disdainful glance before smiling smugly.

โ€œI can promise everyone this: As long as you complete your assigned tasks on time and refrain from spreading rumors or gossiping about your superiors, youโ€™ll be able to retire from Lloyd Enterprise without worry.

โ€œAlso, I have great news! Just moments ago, the CEO of Sky Tech Enterprise personally called me. Their new energy project has officially been awarded to us. Starting next month, all salaries and annual bonuses will be doubled.โ€

The room erupted in cheers.

โ€œOh my goodness! This has to be the peak for our company. Iโ€™ve never seen us land two major projects in a single month!โ€

โ€œI suddenly feel like my future is glowing. And Sharon? Such an idiot for trying to sabotage our relationship with Mr. Hunt! She didnโ€™t stop to think. If he really got the wrong impression of Ms. Rachel, where would that leave the rest of us?โ€

โ€œExactly! She almost ruined everything!โ€

Yvette watched the tide turn completely in Rachelโ€™s favor. Just moments ago, all these people had been pledging loyalty to her, vowing to find ways to force Rachel out. Now, they were switching sides in an instant.

Rachel narrowed her eyes and then deliberately smirked in Yvetteโ€™s direction. Yvetteโ€™s face turned bright red with anger.

โ€œWell, since no one seems to have any objections to how I manage this company, letโ€™s wrap up. Iโ€™ll have someone draft new company policies shortly. Rest assuredโ€“during my term, there will be no favoritism, no collusion, and no shielding of incompetence.โ€

Everyone knew exactly what those last two points referred to. During Yvetteโ€™s time in charge, those who were close to her got all the benefits. Competence didnโ€™t matter. What mattered most was knowing how to keep her happy. For those who actually had real skills, that favoritism had always been a major roadblock for career progression.
