Chapter 507

The meaning behind all this was already crystal clear. They were basically stripping Yvette of all her authority. What use was the title of deputy CEO if it came with no real power?!

Yvette knew this, too. Even if Rachel didnโ€™t demote her or kick her out of the company, it wouldnโ€™t make a difference. She was now completely sidelined. She had no say in project matters, and even less in financial ones.

With no other options, Yvette turned to Gary for help. She walked over and clutched his hand, pleading. โ€œMr. Summers, have you forgotten what my dad asked of you? He told you to take good care of me. You canโ€™t just stand by and let them treat me like this!โ€

Gary shook his head. โ€œMs. Yvette, your father did ask me to look after you, but that only applies if youโ€™re actually trying to do something good for the company, not if youโ€™reโ€ฆโ€

He sighed heavily, clearly disappointed, and gave a dismissive wave. โ€œThis ends here. When you start contributing to the company the way your sister does, we can talk about restoring your authority.โ€

With that, Gary turned and walked away.

The rest of the people watching had seen enough. It wasnโ€™t worth staying around any longer.

After delegating tasks, Rachel sent everyone off to focus on their work.

Cecilia quickly caught up to Rachel, grinning from ear to ear. โ€œRachelโ€“uh, I mean Ms. Rachel, whereโ€™s your office?โ€

Rachel had nearly forgotten. She didnโ€™t even have an office yet.

Right then, the two of them happened to pass by Yvetteโ€™s office. Rachel suddenly stopped.

She turned to Cecilia and said calmly, โ€œGo tell the assistant that since Ms. Yvette isnโ€™t using her office anymore, it should go to someone who actually needs it. Have her move into the office next door.โ€

Rachel didnโ€™t speak loudly, but her words were just loud enough for everyone nearby to hear.

Cecilia pursed her lips and barely held back her laughter. โ€œAlright, Ms. Rachel.โ€

Soon, people were already making arrangements to move the office. Yvette had just come out of the restroom when she saw a group of people clearing out her things.

Her expression changed immediately. โ€œWhat are you doing? Who told you to touch my stuff? Get out! This is my office!โ€

But everyone knew how office politics worked. Back when Yvette held power, she loved pulling strings and using backdoor connections. Those who had real talent were often targeted and suppressed.

Now that the tide had turned, no one was going to cut her any slack.

Someone mocked her harshly. โ€œMs. Yvette, youโ€™re not in charge anymore. I suggest you save yourself the embarrassmentโ€“unless you want to become the office joke.โ€

โ€œYes, this office was personally requested by Ms. Rachel. Weโ€™re just employees. Unlike you, the deputy CEO, we canโ€™t treat the place like our own house.โ€

โ€œIf you have a problem with it, youโ€™d better take it up with Ms. Rachel directly.โ€

Someone even bumped into Yvette while passing by. She was wearing heels and almost lost her balance. Her ankle twisted painfully, making her gasp from the sharp sting.

She clenched her fists tightly, letting the pain spread through her palms, but her eyes showed no sign of backing down.

Just you wait!

Yvette didnโ€™t believe for a second that no one could rein Rachel in.

Meanwhile, Rachel and Cecilia were in the conference room discussing how to move forward with the Sky Tech Enterprise project. After hearing Rachelโ€™s plan, Cecilia looked at her, speechless.

โ€œAre you sure this schedule is even doable? You just took over. If no one down there throws a fit, Iโ€™ll be shocked!โ€
