Chapter 679
Rachel was busy replying to the salesladyโs text.
โI think she has talent in sales.โ
โI donโt think sheโs as good as you think she is. Think about it. She might be good at sales, but sheโs way too gossipy. Gossiping is a big no-no in the corporate world, but she doesnโt seem to find it a big deal. What if she starts gossiping about company-related matters?โ
Rachel had long thought of a solution for that.
โDonโt worry about that. We have clear rules guarding against gossip, and all employees must sign a non-disclosure agreement. Anyway, who doesnโt gossip? Mr. Hunt, can you say that youโve never gossiped in your entire life?โ
Tyler had thought that Rachel was explaining the situation to the saleslady when he saw Rachel chatting with her for so long.
Who knew that Rachel would think about recruiting at a place like that?
He didnโt see that coming.
โYou were chatting with that saleslady for so long, and you didnโt explain to her what the other bottle of perfume was for?โ
Rachel munched on the lychees Wanda had peeled while texting a reply to the saleslady. โWhatโs there to explain? Any man who dresses the way you do and brings a girl to a place like that wouldnโt be seen as decent.โ
Tyler was curious. He seldom paid attention to other things aside from work. Since Rachel was on this topic, he couldnโt help but probe further.
โWhat do you mean by that?โ
Rachel had already sent a text to the saleslady and was waiting for her reply. In the meantime, she put her phone down and started explaining things to Tyler.
โA man dressed like you would never bother stepping foot into a perfume shop. Whoโd have the time to accompany his wife to buy perfume? Only an affair partner can make a man willingly go to a place like that. In a relationship thatโs new and exciting, everything is still nice and dandy.
โDo you really think they donโt have eyes to see? A man of your stature who wants to buy perfume for his wife can just get his assistant to buy it for him. Why bother buying it himself?โ
Tyler turned to look at her. โWhy didnโt you explain things to them? You probably heard what they were saying about you.โ
โI did, but thereโs no need to explain.โ
Rachel wasnโt a fool. She turned around to look back at him with a glint in her eyes.
โTyler, youโre a smart man. Donโt bother acting dumb with me. Werenโt you the one who deliberately misled them, causing them to misunderstand that I was your partner whoโs accompanying you to buy perfume for another woman? Arenโt you the reason why they were blatantly talking about me?โ
This man really knew how to put on a convincing act.
Tyler didnโt see anything wrong with his actions and said with a shrug, โYou didnโt say anything about it back there, did you?โ
Rachel flung a pillow at him and scoffed. โWhen did you become so childish?โ
It was something so trivial. Only a youngster barely twenty would bother pulling a stupid stunt like this.
He was already past thirty and always seemed so mature and wise to others. Since when did he become so childish?
Tyler chuckled. โJust now.โ
Just then, his phone vibrated.
It was a voice message from his client, Heidi Yates. Tyler didnโt hide it from Rachel and played it out loud in front of her.
โMr. Hunt, letโs have a meal tomorrow afternoon and discuss the proposal after that. How does that sound?โ
Tyler replied in the affirmative.
A moment later, Heidi sent him another voice message.
โOne more thing. Can I ask you out for some drinks later?โ
Tyler glanced at Rachel after playing the voice message.
