Chapter 785

Rachel didnโ€™t have time to explain to Jerry.

โ€œDonโ€™t worry about the details. Just take this and get it done. But be mindful of how you handle it. If you can settle things peacefully, thatโ€™s best. If not, then show this to him.โ€

โ€œGot it.โ€ Jerry was already full of confidence.

With this in hand, not only could he get Sheryn and Wilma on a call, but even forcing Jeremy to kneel wasnโ€™t out of the question.

As soon as Rachel hung up, she rushed upstairs. The moment she reached the entrance, she was stopped by the police.

Rachel quickly identified herself.

โ€œI know her. Let me go up. Maybe I can stop her.โ€

The two officers exchanged a look before one nodded.

โ€œAlright, go on.โ€

โ€œThank you.โ€

Rachel hurried inside and raced toward the rooftop. Just seeing the height from there made her legs turn wobbly.

Wilma had already gone above and beyond for Sheryn. After all, Sheryn wasnโ€™t even her biological daughter, yet she had done so much for her.

Rachel was about to step forward when suddenly someone grabbed her wrist. Turning around, she saw Tyler.

His eyes locked on her in disbelief. His voice was low and strained.

โ€œWhat are you doing here?โ€

Rachel frowned before casting another worried glance at Wilma, who was already sitting on the edge of the rooftop.

Everyone else stood back at a distance, too afraid to make a move and worried theyโ€™d push Wilma over the edge.

โ€œWith something this big going on, did you really think you could keep it from me? Is that even possible?โ€ Rachel said.

โ€œWhat good will it do for you to be here? Go back.โ€ Tyler pressed a hand against her back, ready to make her leave.

Rachel spun around and grabbed his wrist. Her gaze was steady and serious as she looked at him. โ€œTrust me. I can get her down. You shouldnโ€™t hold me back right now. If she really jumps and dies, do you have any idea whatโ€™s coming for you?โ€

The consequences werenโ€™t something anyone could bear. Even losing the entire company wouldnโ€™t be enough to cover it.

Tyler met her gaze. โ€œDo you really have a way?โ€

โ€œI do. Trust me. Let me talk to her first. If I can persuade her, then everything else will fall into place.โ€

Tyler hesitated.

Of course, Rachelโ€™s safety was his top priority.

On top of that, Wilma had never liked Rachel. She had always believed Rachel was the reason Tyler and Sheryn didnโ€™t end up together. Right now, with her emotions running wild, seeing Rachel might only make things worse. She might even drag Rachel down with her.

Tyler couldnโ€™t make up his mind.

โ€œNo! You know how my aunt feels about you. For all we know, this whole stunt was just to lure you in.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ll be careful. I wonโ€™t go near her. If she wants to come to me, then that actually makes things easier.โ€

Rachel could tell he wasnโ€™t reassured, so she kept explaining and trying to ease his worries.

At last, Tylerโ€™s stance softened.

โ€œAlright. But you said it yourself, be careful. No matter what she says or how she tries to provoke you, donโ€™t fall for it. And donโ€™t you dare go over to her!โ€

โ€œRelax. If I try, youโ€™ll be right here to hold me back, wonโ€™t you?โ€

That finally put Tyler at ease enough to let her approach.

Wilma, still on edge, sat on the rooftop with her feet dangling into the open air. Just one slip and she could fall.

She screamed at the people behind her.

โ€œI want to see my daughter! I donโ€™t care what you do, I need to see her right now! If you donโ€™t bring her to me, Iโ€™ll jump!โ€
