Tyler looked at his watch, the warm light shining down on his side profile. His jawline was as sharp as a knife’s edge, his eyes dark and unfathomable.

“Yvette Lloyd, you can doubt evidence that comes from other people, but this evidence comes from my sources. Even if you hire the best lawyer in Yurelia City, let me tell you this—it’s useless.”

Yvette almost collapsed out of fright. She clearly knew what Tyler was capable of. If it were anyone else, she might still stand a chance to escape.

But this was Tyler.

That meant she stood no chance of escape.

Just then, Rachel and Cecilia heard the commotion and walked out of the lounge. They looked at Yvette and Tyler, confusion in their eyes.

The moment Yvette saw Rachel, she rushed toward her as though she had seen her savior. She grabbed Rachel’s arm, pretending they were the best of sisters.

“Rachel, look at Mr. Hunt! He’s still so hostile to me and even wants to send me back to the police!”

“Yvette Lloyd, I can’t believe how disgusting you are! Think about it—would you have been released if not for Rachel? Yet you dared to slander her before so many people! Cecilia couldn’t hold back her anger; she pointed a finger at Yvette and snarled, “Yvette, how could you be like this?! If Rachel hadn’t talked to your father about it, would you have been able to come out? She didn’t provoke your father at all!

“Everyone knows how biased the Lloyd family is. If they weren’t biased toward you, they would’ve sent you to the police a long time ago! Would you even stand a chance to be here? Rachel has been merciful and kind enough to you, but you’re so ungrateful and repaid her kindness with evil by slandering her.”

Yvette shook her head profusely. “I didn’t slander her! Rachel, you’ve got to believe me. I really didn’t say anything.”

Rachel was no fool and could see through Yvette in an instant. Her face turned cold and expressionless.

“Yvette Lloyd, I allowed you to be released because I struck a deal with Dad. I’ve kept my promise to him and released you.”

Yvette heaved a sigh of relief.

However, what Rachel said next sent her straight to hell.

“I warned you before you left the station, but you refused to heed my advice. As for what comes next, we’ll do as Tyler said.”

Tyler was very approving of Rachel’s words. He was worried that Rachel might show pity to Yvette at the very last minute.

“Since your father’s funeral is still ongoing, you should do your part as a daughter. We can wait till the funeral is over. If you continue shooting your mouth off about Rachel, I don’t mind raising additional charges against you,” Tyler warned as he stood there, his aura imposing and intimidating.
