Chapter 889
Tyler steadied himself. His expression was already back to its usual calm. The tenderness he had shown Rachel just moments ago was gone without a trace.
"Let's continue."
The shareholders knew what Tyler was like. He never cared for pleasantries, but whether he liked them or not wasn't the point. They still had to say them.
"Congratulations, Mr. Hunt."
"Yes, Mr. Hunt. I didn't expect you'd be a father so soon."
"So, when's the wedding? We need to celebrate properly."
Tyler tapped lightly on the table. "When the wedding's set, you'll be notified. No need to rush."
"Yes, of course."
"We'll be ready with our gifts."
"Wonderful news, Mr. Hunt. Congratulations again."
"Enough flattery," Tyler cut them off coldly.
Any hint of softness from the earlier good news vanished.
"Let's get back to business. Phase two of the renewable energy financing needs at least three strategic partners locked in by next Wednesday. Dan, you're leading this. Legal will shadow every step of the contracts. I expect a full risk-control plan on my desk."
Danโs smile disappeared after being singled out.
"Mr. Hunt, next Wednesday? That's only five days awayโ"
"Which is why you'll be working overtime. Everyone under you had better be at full throttle."
Tyler didn't even look up as he flipped to the next page.
"Overseas division, the southeastern region receivables are behind schedule. I want a task force on site this week. Late fees will be calculated daily, and Finance will notify our partners in writing. Landon, you're leading the team personally."
Landon took a deep breath with a solemn expression. "Mr. Hunt, with typhoon season in those ports, flights are nearly impossible to book. Just getting there would take at least ten daysโ"
"Then book the earliest flight today. Typhoon or not, you're going." Tyler glared at him. "Every day of delay costs this company seven figures. Between the storm and cutting our losses, which matters more?"
Landon fell silent instantly.
Tyler moved on without pause.
"Finance will work with Audit. I want a full quarterly review of all subsidiaries within three days. Pay special attention to marketing expenses. If anything's off, report it immediately."
"Three days?" the CFO nearly leaped out of his chair. "Mr. Hunt, the paperwork from the subsidiaries is overwhelming! Completing it in just three days is unrealistic."
"Then add staff and work overnight." Tyler's voice brooked no refusal. "By Friday morning, I expect a complete audit report."
A chorus of inhales echoed through the call. The shareholders glanced at each other. Their forced smiles turned into grimaces.
Someone muttered under their breath, "Just finished congratulating him on becoming a dad, and now he's putting us through hell. What a turnaround."
"Don't you see? This is exactly like the early days when the company first started."
"If that's the case, we're in for a rough ride. The sky's about to fall."
Tyler ignored them completely. He snapped the folder shut and looked across the screen.
"After this meeting, every department will start taking action immediately. I want progress reports before the end of each business day. Anyone who drops the ball will deal with the consequences."
The shareholders all lowered their heads.
"Understood."
Tyler ended the call. Right then, Wanda knocked on the door.
"Come in."
She pushed the door open and found Tyler still buried in paperwork, but something about him felt different.
He radiated a fierce determination, as if he was dead-set on achieving something. It was in his entire presence, but especially in his eyes.
They had once been unreadable. Now, they burned with ambition, almost as if they were glowing.
