Chapter 895

After eating, Rachel said to Wanda, “I’m going to the hospital to be with my friend. Tell Tyler when he wakes up.”

Wanda looked worried. “Madam, why don’t I have Yale drive you? You’re pregnant now. You need to be extra careful about everything.”

“It’s fine. I’ll just grab a ride outside.”

“Alright, then. Please be careful.”

Rachel stepped out of the house. She tried to call for a ride, but since they were out in the suburbs and it was still early, she waited more than ten minutes without getting one.

She had no choice but to take the car Tyler had given her from the garage.

On the way, she set up a meeting with a business partner. Although Lloyd Enterprise was struggling now, it was still better to show up with a company than with nothing at all.

Fortunately, the partner had plans later in the afternoon, so they scheduled for noon.

During the drive, Rachel recalled how Tyler had checked up on her the last time. He was always so thorough, so she needed to be extra cautious.

She used the same trick again by calling Cecilia ahead of time. The two had already planned out what she should say if Tyler called.

Cecilia chuckled on the other end. “Got it. Sneaking off to negotiate a deal again, aren’t you? Careful, or Mr. Hunt will catch you in the act. But honestly, why are you keeping this from him? It’s not like he’s William, wanting to keep you caged up at home like some bird in a gilded cage.”

“No, it’s not that. I just found out I’m pregnant yesterday, and he’s already nervous about everything. I don’t want him to know I’m still out meeting business partners in secret.”

Cecilia gasped. “Rachel, you’re pregnant? That’s incredible news! I don’t care what you say. I’m going to be that baby’s godmother! Well… That’s only if I make it through.”

“Ugh, don’t say things like that first thing in the morning. It’s bad luck. Listen, I’ve hired the best doctors around. They’re going to cure you. There’s no question about it.”

Now that Rachel was pregnant, she was even more sensitive than before. She couldn’t stand hearing Cecilia talk about death and farewells so casually.

Cecilia realized she had brought negative energy to the conversation and quickly changed her tune, “Forget what I just said. It doesn’t matter. I’ll be fine. I’m going to have a healthy, strong body to look forward to!”

Rachel chuckled. “That’s better.”

About thirty minutes after Rachel left, Tyler woke up. The first thing he did was head back to the bedroom, but Rachel was nowhere to be found.

He stood by the upstairs railing and called down, “Wanda, where’s Rachel?”

Wanda was still doing the dishes. She looked up and answered, “She said she went to the hospital to see her friend. She might be back a little late.”

Tyler frowned. She had been exhausted last night. Why wouldn’t she just stay home and rest this morning?

Without a second thought, he picked up his phone and called Cecilia.

Cecilia hadn’t expected him to call so early. She quickly ran through the cover story in her head before swiping to answer.

“Cecilia, is Rachel with you?” Tyler asked.

“Yes, she just got here not long ago.”

“Then put her on the phone for me. I need to talk to her.”

“She stepped out to get some water. I’ll have her call you back as soon as she returns.”
