Chapter 897

โ€œAlright, enough with the flattery. Just give me the details. If anything goes wrong later, donโ€™t blame me,โ€ Tyler warned.

โ€œThe project files are already in your email inbox.โ€

Jason knew Tyler too well. If Tyler agreed to take something on, it usually meant it was as good as done.

โ€œFine, then. Once itโ€™s over, Iโ€™ll text you.โ€

Jason was so touched, he almost teared up. โ€œYouโ€™re practically my lifesaver! Alright, talk later.โ€

After hanging up, Tyler and Yale drove straight to South Coast Cafe. Tyler picked a table before texting Jason.

[Iโ€™m at B05. Tell them when they arrive.]

[Okay.]

Twenty minutes passed, but no one showed. With Tylerโ€™s temperament, his patience had already worn thin.

He stood up abruptly with clenched jaws. It was clear that his mood had been affected.

Yale stood right beside him, not daring to make a sound. He knew Tyler too well. The man never tolerated sloppiness when it came to work.

Tyler grabbed his jacket off the back of the chair, his expression dark.

โ€œLetโ€™s go.โ€

โ€œSir, shouldnโ€™t we wait a little longer? Isnโ€™t this project really important to Mr. Denzel?โ€

โ€œYou saw it yourself. This isnโ€™t on me. The problemโ€™s theirs, not mine.โ€

โ€œYes, sir.โ€ Yale nodded.

There was no arguing that. Tyler had already waited for thirty minutes, and he studied the project brief front to back. If this had been his own client, he would have cut ties on the spot and never worked with them again.

Just as Tyler was about to leave, a figure rushed through the door.

โ€œSโ€“Sorry! The traffic was terrible...โ€

The voice cut off abruptly when Rachel looked up and saw Tyler. Her mind went blank with shock.

Why was it him?

Wasnโ€™t the project lead supposed to be someone named Chris Hemming?

To be sure she wasnโ€™t mistaken, Rachel quickly checked the project proposal again. She hadnโ€™t been wrong. The name was indeed Chris.

So why was Tyler here in his place?

She was doomed! Whether the clientโ€™s name was Tyler or not, this was bad.

What was she supposed to do now?

Maybe she could just find an excuse to slip away.

Rachel lowered her head and turned to leave, but Tyler seemed to have anticipated it. He grabbed her immediately.

โ€œRunning already? You came all this way. If you donโ€™t close the deal, wouldnโ€™t that be a waste?โ€

Rachel pursed her lips. Her mind raced. He wasnโ€™t wrong. She was here now, and she had already taken such a big risk. If she didnโ€™t seal this deal, it really would all be for nothing.

After taking a deep breath, she forced herself to sit back down across from him. With a straight face, she said seriously, โ€œTyler, I was told Iโ€™d be meeting Chris. Why are you here instead?โ€

โ€œChris had an emergency surgery for appendicitis. Jason asked me to cover for him. That means, if this goes through, youโ€™ll be negotiating with me, not Chris. Got it?โ€

โ€œGot it.โ€ Rachel pushed the proposal across the table toward him. โ€œThis is our plan. If the pricing doesnโ€™t work for you, please let me know. Weโ€™ll accommodate as much as possible.โ€

Tyler leaned back casually in his chair and tapped on the table.
