Chapter 915

Thomasโ€™ eyes lit up at Tylerโ€™s words.

โ€œSure. Come play chess with me when you have time.โ€

โ€œSure,โ€ Tyler agreed readily.

Thomasโ€™ eyes welled up with tears at the harmonious scene before him.

He had been on this earth for so many years and seen his fair share of ups and downs. Having tasted the pain of separation of family members, all he wanted was this sense of security and stability in his later years.

He picked up a pastry and bit into it. The buttery, flaky fragrance spread in his mouth, and even his empty heart felt full at that moment.

Before Tyler and Rachel left, Thomas made sure to remind Tyler to take good care of Rachel.

After they left the hospital, Rachel burst out chuckling. โ€œLook, heโ€™s more bark than bite! Just spend more time with him, and Iโ€™m sure you two will grow closer.โ€

Tyler grabbed her hand, feeling the warmth through her fingers and basking in the glow of her smiling gaze.

โ€œYes, whatever you say.โ€

Over the next week, Tyler did his best to wrap up as much work as he could to free up a weekend to bring Rachel to pick a wedding gown.

He found a wedding gown boutique tucked in an old, quiet alley.

The door opened with a creak, and they were greeted by shelves upon shelves of fabric. A woman approached them with a bright smile.

โ€œMr. Hunt, Mrs. Hunt. As we mentioned last time, I have a few gown designs prepared for you. Please, come this way.โ€

Rachelโ€™s attention was immediately drawn to a satin gown with a long train that stretched endlessly, embellished with pearls that shone in the warm light. She reached out to caress the fabric, feeling the smooth and delicate texture through her fingertips.

โ€œThis one looks good.โ€

Tyler reached out to touch it, too. โ€œTry it on if you like it.โ€

โ€œSit here and wait for me.โ€

Rachel followed the seamstress into the dressing room.

When she was done getting changed, she opened the door and asked Tyler, whose head was bowed as he scrolled through his phone, โ€œWhat do you think?โ€

Tyler looked up, and his breath caught in his chest.

Rachel stood before a mirror, the gentle curves of the dress accentuating her figure. She spun around and asked, โ€œDo I look fat in this? My appetiteโ€™s been great, so I think my waist got bigger.โ€

Tyler walked toward her and reached out to straighten out the collar of her dress. His fingers brushed past her ear as he said in a low and suggestive voice, โ€œNot fat at all, you look just right. But thereโ€™s a problemโ€ฆโ€

He picked up a measuring tape and carefully wrapped it around Rachelโ€™s waist. He then said to the seamstress, โ€œAdd two more inches of fabric here to allow for future adjustments.โ€

The seamstress said with a smile, โ€œMr. Hunt, thatโ€™s so thoughtful of you! Mrs. Hunt is so fortunate to have you as her husband.โ€

Rachelโ€™s eyes twinkled as she reached out to hold Tylerโ€™s hand. โ€œThereโ€™s no need for that, really. The weddingโ€™s just a one-time event. We donโ€™t have to be that particular.โ€

โ€œNo way,โ€ Tyler insisted as he looked down at her, a doting look in his eyes. โ€œMy wife must be comfortably dressed at her own wedding. We cannot compromise on this.โ€

He pointed at the pearls on the train of the dress.

โ€œThese pearls match well with your earrings. Iโ€™ll find a jewelry shop to transform the earrings to a brooch which you can pin right here.โ€

Rachelโ€™s gaze followed his finger as she nodded appreciatively.

She never expected herself to have another wedding. To a certain extent, this was considered her first wedding.
