Chapter 936

Rachel found her two dogs exceedingly adorable. Most importantly, they seemed to really understand what she was saying.

She rubbed Ray and Sunnyโ€™s heads, and they snuggled into her touch.

Just then, Yale called Tyler. โ€œMr. Hunt, there are some things in the office that require your attention.โ€

โ€œOkay, Iโ€™ll head over right now.โ€ Tyler hung up and said to Rachel, โ€œI need to make a trip to the office. Stay at home with Wanda, or head out for a stroll if you feel bored. But you must bring Wanda along with you.โ€

โ€œOkay. Hurry on, be safe on the way there.โ€

Rachel wasnโ€™t planning on leaving the apartment today. All she wanted to do was rest.

The moment Tyler left, Rachel said to Wanda, who was busy in the kitchen, โ€œWanda, Iโ€™m heading up for a nap.โ€

After everything that happened at the Lewis mansion, she was exhausted. She had been sleeping very well recently, perhaps due to her pregnancy.

Her quality of sleep when she was working used to be good, but she could resist sleepiness by sheer willpower when she got busy. Yet now that she was pregnant, she couldnโ€™t resist the desire to sleep, no matter how hard she tried.

Tyler drove to the lobby of his office building, where Yale was waiting for him. Yale opened the car door for Tyler, who flung his car key to the security guard at the building entrance.

โ€œWhat happened?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s one of our partners. This morning, we agreed to sign a contract this afternoon, but there was a sudden change. They requested 20% more investment dividends, or theyโ€™ll withdraw their investment. The project team has been negotiating with them for half an hour. The partner is very firm about it.โ€

Tyler furrowed his brows, but he sounded unperturbed. โ€œEmail me the background details of this partner and the cost breakdown of the earlier phase of this project in five minutes. Also, get the law department and the project team to wait for me in the meeting room.โ€

โ€œYes, sir.โ€

Each time Yale witnessed how Tyler methodically and systematically tackled each challenge that no one could overcome, he always felt a sense of security.

It was as if Tyler could always find a way out of any trouble thrown in his way.

Very soon, the email was sent to Tylerโ€™s email inbox, which he quickly scanned through. He underlined the deadline of Harvest Enterpriseโ€™s bid submission and smirked.

โ€œSo anxious to secure technical support, yet they dare to talk terms with me? Come on, letโ€™s head to the meeting room.โ€

The atmosphere in the meeting room was tense when they opened the door and walked through it.

The head of the project team looked pale, while the head of the law department was flipping through the contractual terms. Conversely, the representative from Harvest Enterprise was leaning leisurely against the back of his chair, scrolling through his phone with a look of annoyance.

When he looked up and saw the incisive look in Tylerโ€™s eyes, he swallowed back the words he was about to say.

Tyler made his way to the head of the table and sat down, pushing the document toward the representative.

โ€œMr. Lambert, I donโ€™t have time to beat around the bush with you. You want 20% more dividends, sure. But on one condition: put the bidding deposit for that land for new energy development as a guarantee for us,โ€ he said firmly.

Mr. Lambert sat stunned for a moment. The look on his face completely changed.

โ€œMr. Hunt, thatโ€™s not very reasonable of you. Weโ€™re talking about the dividends for this project, which has nothing to do with the bidding deposit.โ€

โ€œHow are they unrelated?โ€ Tyler tapped the document on the table before them. โ€œYouโ€™re anxious to secure our technical support so you can win the bid. Weโ€™re investing our technology in this project to secure the profits we deserve.

โ€œNow that youโ€™re suddenly asking for more, we are essentially taking a gamble with our technology that you will secure the bid. Since itโ€™s a gamble, you have to show your sincerity in pushing this forward. That, or we can always halt our support for you.

โ€œItโ€™s not difficult for us to find another partner, given our strengths. But if you miss the bid deadline, you wonโ€™t just be losing 20% of the dividends.โ€

The calm look on Mr. Lambertโ€™s face was immediately replaced by panic and anxiety. Cold sweat started breaking out on his forehead.

He didnโ€™t expect Tyler to have so much background information about them. He wanted to refute Tylerโ€™s claims, but his mind drew a blank.
