Chapter 939

“What’s going on?”

Rachel was surprised to see Tyler there. “What are you doing here?”

“Didn’t you see my text?”

Rachel quickly pulled her phone out and saw the text Tyler sent, telling her that he was done and that he’d be coming over to fetch her.

“I’m sorry, I was busy shopping with Cecilia and didn’t check my phone.”

“It’s fine,” Tyler said as he patted her shoulder.

Cecilia wasn’t about to be a pushover. She wasn’t afraid, especially now that Tyler was here. Before Rachel had a chance to speak, Cecilia told Tyler everything that had happened.

Tyler looked icily at the woman, who subconsciously took two steps back.

“We can compensate you for the milk powder,” Tyler said in an authoritative tone, “but did you just say that your husband manages this mall?”

The woman felt intimidated by the expensive-looking suit Tyler was wearing and the remarkable aura he exuded, but she refused to back down.

“So what if he is? He’s the general manager of this mall, so pay up and apologize if you know what’s good for you! Otherwise, you can forget about entering this mall in the future.”

As she spoke, she pulled her phone out and called her husband, her tone whiny and demanding.

“Hubby, I was bullied by someone in the baby shop! You have to come and stand up for me.”

A while later, a pot-bellied man wearing a suit hurried over. It was Mr. Jennings, the general manager of the mall. He was full of smiles when he approached the lady.

“Honey, what’s wrong? Who bullied you?”

“They did!” The woman pointed at Rachel and Tyler. “She bumped into me and refused to compensate me, and even glared at me! Chase them out right now and ban them from entering the mall!”

Mr. Jennings looked in the direction his wife pointed and was ready to scold the offender when he saw that it was Tyler. His face turned pale in an instant as he lost his footing.

He stuttered, “Mr…Mr. Hunt? W–What brings you here?”

The woman stood stunned. “Hubby, do you know him?”

“Know?”

Mr. Jennings wiped the cold sweat on his brow and hurried over to Tyler.

He said with a deep bow, “Mr. Hunt, I’m so sorry. My wife was blind to offend you and your wife. I apologize to you on her behalf!”

Mrs. Jennings was utterly confused. “Hubby, what are you talking about? Who is he?”

Instead of paying Mr. Jennings any attention, Tyler looked at Rachel and combed his fingers through her slightly messy bangs. His cold, calm voice hit Mr. Jennings like a brick.

“Mr. Jennings, I remember three years ago, when your mall was facing a cash flow crisis, it was LS Enterprise that invested three hundred million dollars, which helped the mall survive till today. Did I remember that correctly?”

Mr. Jennings’ head bowed even lower. “Yes…yes, it was your great compassion and mercy that saved our mall.”

“I saved your mall because I saw potential in it,” Tyler said as he looked up, his incisive gaze sweeping across his face. “However, that doesn’t mean I allow your family members to act like they own this place and bully my wife.”

He paused for a moment before going on, his voice intimidating, “It is written clearly in LS Enterprise’s investment agreement that if the mall does anything to infringe its shareholders’ interests, we have the right to withdraw our investment at any time. How long do you think your mall can survive if we do that?”

Mr. Jennings’ face turned white as a sheet. His knees buckled, almost sending him kneeling on the floor.

“Mr. Hunt, I was wrong! I was so wrong! I was wrong not to discipline my wife. I’ll make her apologize to you and your wife right away and compensate for all damages. Please don’t withdraw your investment!”

He dragged his wife, who was still in a daze, and shoved her right before Rachel. “Quick! Apologize to Mrs. Hunt right away! Say you’re sorry!”

That was when realization finally dawned upon Mrs. Jennings. The man before her was the mall’s major shareholder! Her prior arrogance disappeared without a trace. She bowed before Rachel, her face ashen.

“Mrs. Hunt, I’m sorry! I was wrong. I shouldn’t have lost my temper or demanded that you compensate me. Please be magnanimous and don’t count it against me…”

Rachel saw how frightened she looked and felt nothing. She didn’t want to accept her apology, and she didn’t actually incur any losses.

“Let’s go.”

Tyler held Rachel’s hand and warned Mr. Jennings, “Watch your people and don’t let me see this happening a second time!”
