Bella got up and left. She didn't understand why Dominic wanted to involve himself in her affairs; his actions only pressured her, as she feared it would trigger his annoyance and resentment.

But as soon as she returned to her room, she received a message from him. It contained information about the situation surrounding Simon's company, revealing why he was seeking her out.

After Simon's youngest daughter died, he and his wife were left without heirs. His company was a family business, and all the shares were held by a few relatives. These relatives, all with many sons, were eyeing Simon's share.

Naturally, he refused to relinquish his shares. So, he and his wife decided that, although Bella was his illegitimate daughter, she would be his heir. Of course, this was merely a pretense; she would never actually own any shares or money in the company.

After learning the truth, Bella was furious. Every time Simon claimed to want to make amends, he had ulterior motives. This made her wonder if he saw her as nothing more than a tool.

The next day at the hospital, Simon continued to send her food. As Bella looked at the fancy packaging, she found it absurd. She believed Simon measured everything by money.

She unblocked his number and called him.

He answered swiftly, his voice brimming with excitement. "Bella, did you get the food I ordered? You must be tired at work. You should eat more; you're so thin."

She didn't immediately dismiss him. Instead, she asked, "Are you in Joville? Let's meet."

Simon instantly replied, "I'm not in Joville, but I can come. Just give me a time, and I'll be there."

He naturally treated her like a precious treasure, needing a favor from her. And she didn't mind using that to her advantage. "I only have time during my lunch break. If you can't make it, don't blame me for not meeting you." With that, she hung up without waiting for his reply.

A sudden thought crossed Bella's mind, stirring up a storm of emotions. She needed to leave the Miller family and Dominic. She had planned this for a long time, though her plans were disrupted earlier. She couldn't stay any longer, and this was her opportunity to leave.

She had to leave, but she wouldn't actually go with Simon. She would only use him as a reason to leave the Millers and then cut ties with him.

Even though Dominic seemed to have softened toward her lately, she feared it was a mere pretense of gentleness before he hurt her again.

At noon, Simon called her and arrived punctually at the hospital entrance to pick her up.
