Chapter 192: Someone Has to Give In

Bella returned to the hospital. Passing the pharmacy, she stopped abruptly. She couldn't get pregnant with Dominic's child, no matter what.

Hesitantly, she approached the pharmacist and asked, "Could you get me some medicine?"

The pharmacist hesitated, meeting her gaze. "Are you asking for that kind of medication again? I would give it to you, but Dr. Jones explicitly told us not to. I don't know why, though. You could ask someone in charge." This must have been Dominic's doing. The realization struck Bella, and she dismissed her initial plan.

During her lunch break, she went to a nearby drugstore. She had just walked out with the medication when Dominic called.

"Bella! Get rid of the pills!"

"Don't make me angry."

A chill ran down her spine. He was constantly watching her. Utterly dejected, she disposed of the medication in a garbage can.

That evening, she didn't feel like going home after work. His erratic behavior the previous night had scared her. She didn't want a repeat.

She considered swapping shifts with a colleague but dismissed the idea. She couldn't even get medication from the hospital; there was no way Dominic would let her swap shifts to avoid him. She left the hospital at 7:30 pm.

At home, Sylvia took her bag. "Come and have dinner. Mr. Miller is waiting."

Bella nodded, carefully approaching the dining table. She didn't want to eat with Dominic, but she didn't want to upset him.

She had just sat down when he stood up. "Come to my room after you're finished."

Her body tensed. "Could we skip it tonight? I'm not feeling well." She was telling the truth; she had ached all day.

Dominic ignored her and went upstairs. "Half an hour should be enough to finish dinner."

She stared at the untouched food. He seemed to have barely eaten either. She had no appetite. Half an hour later, she dragged herself to his room.

Dominic sat by the glass window, smoking. He looked at her and gestured towards the bathroom, silently requesting she shower. His expression remained cold.

Having no choice, Bella complied. This way, she wouldn't make things worse. At the same time, she worried about his health. She had to give in.

After a quick shower, she wrapped a towel around herself and exited the bathroom. When Dominic heard her and turned around, his gaze immediately fell upon her.

Maintaining her composure, she removed the towel and lay on the bed, closing her eyes. She thought she could remain calm. However, when he held her and lowered himself onto her, she panicked.

"I don't want to get pregnant!" she cried.

Dominic scolded her coldly, seeming to laugh at her naiveté. His movements were rough. He was clearly only doing this to get her pregnant, and his actions made that evident.

Like the previous night, he didn't linger. He let her go after one encounter. Everything was the same as before. Unless they needed to have sex, she wasn't permitted in his room.

The following day, news of Simon's company's bankruptcy spread rapidly. When Bella saw the report, she was stunned. Simon couldn't possibly pose a threat to Dominic. She had been wrong from the very beginning.

Aside from a brief moment of concern, she was unaffected by the news. His losses were insignificant compared to her and her family's well-being.
