Chapter 66: Sleep with Me Tonight

Dominic remained silent, giving her a warning look. Bella sighed and changed into a pair of light-colored skinny jeans. When she got into the car, Dominic still looked annoyed.

She muttered, "If you think I'm embarrassing, then stop bringing me out. Can we please just stop this? Seeing you upset makes me miserable too."

Dominic remained silent. He put on his sunglasses and drove. Bella couldn't see his expression, but his pursed lips suggested he was unhappy. [The promotional material has been removed.]

When they arrived at Sawyer Manor, Bella was the first out of the car. She couldn't understand why Dominic had picked her up if he disliked her so much. Couldn't she have just taken a cab? She didn't want to be around him if he was going to belittle her. Bella suppressed her anger, taking several deep breaths to calm herself. No wonder he thought she was going through a rebellious phase. She would never have dared to be so defiant with him before.

She realized she had grown bolder lately, probably because she had nothing to lose. Not caring about his opinion anymore was surprisingly liberating.

Walking into the living room, she saw that the bullet-riddled glass wall had been replaced. It was clearly three times thicker than before and was now bulletproof. They had learned their lesson.

Today was a family gathering, and the atmosphere was relatively harmonious. However, despite the Sawyer family's many bodyguards, Bella couldn't help but glance around nervously. She was afraid someone would shoot again after what had happened last time.

At the dinner table, Dominic had quite a few drinks, and Bella had a couple of glasses as well. When it was time to leave, someone from the Sawyer family was sent to drive them. Bella and Dominic sat in the back seat. Dominic, who had had a bit too much to drink, looked sleepy. On the other hand, Bella was wide awake but found the silence boring. She turned her head to watch the passing scenery through the window.

Suddenly, she felt a hand on her thigh. Turning her head slowly, she saw that Dominic still had his eyes closed, as if his hand were there casually. She tried to move her leg away, but his fingers tightened slightly. "Don't move," he murmured.

She frowned and hesitated, but then remained still. She tried to ignore his hand, but he kept gently squeezing it, making it impossible to do so.

As if that weren't bad enough, she noticed his hand slowly creeping up her thigh. Fearing that the driver might see, she grabbed his hand and said, "We're almost there. Are you feeling okay?"

He mumbled, "Yes."

Then, he turned her hand around so their fingers interlaced. She could clearly feel the warmth of his palm.

Bella's heart fluttered. He must have been really drunk to act like this. Although she didn't secretly feel happy or try to pull away, she let him hold her hand until they got home. She gently reminded him, "We're here. Let's get out."

Dominic opened his eyes, let go of her hand, and dismissed the driver with a clear head, leaving Bella puzzled. Was he drunk or sober?

Seeing that Dominic was standing steadily, Bella wasn't worried about him coming in, so she went in first.

The hand he had held was still slightly warm, and she felt a mix of emotions.

As she changed her shoes at the entrance, she heard footsteps approaching from behind. She stepped aside and picked up his slippers.

Suddenly, Bella's arm was grabbed, and she was pushed against the wall. Dominic leaned in close, his breath warm with alcohol, and whispered, "Sleep with me tonight."
