Chapter 89: Blushed

At a red light, Dominic's car pulled up beside Bella's. Just then, she heard Yvonne's voice from the passenger seat: "Ms. Jones!"

Bella rolled down her window and saw Yvonne waving from the backseat, smiling. Bella smiled back. Felix, who was driving, also looked at her and said, "What a coincidence."

As Bella was about to reply, the light turned green. The cars around her started moving. When she looked back, Dominic's car had already disappeared into traffic. Feeling worried, Bella quickly said goodbye to Felix and sped up, trying to catch up with Dominic.

Bella entered the living room but didn't see Dominic. She went to her room to charge her phone. When she turned it on, she saw missed calls from Dominic—two hours old, from when she was with Lia. She wondered why he had called so suddenly.

Sylvia entered with clean clothes. "You're back from dinner with Mr. Miller? Why did you come home separately? Mr. Miller has been home for a while."

Bella looked confused. "I didn't have dinner with him."

Sylvia seemed puzzled. "Mr. Miller called earlier and said not to cook dinner because he was taking you out. Didn't you go with him?"

Bella realized Dominic hadn't seen her car at Lia's studio by chance; he had been trying to find her.

After showering, Bella wanted to explain to Dominic but felt too nervous to do so in person. Worried she might freeze, she decided to text him, explaining her phone had died and she hadn't seen his calls. Dominic replied almost immediately: "Why text when you can talk? Is your mouth taped shut?"

Trying to overcome her nerves, Bella knocked on his door. When it opened, she saw Dominic's bare chest. He had just showered; a towel was wrapped around his waist, and water still clung to his skin.

She instinctively looked away. "My phone died this afternoon, and I didn't get a chance to charge it. I—"

Dominic suddenly grabbed her waist, pulled her inside, and shut the door. His warm breath was close to her ear. "What a coincidence, seeing Felix on your way home and smiling at him. Are you two close?"

Bella pressed her back against the door, feeling Dominic's want behind her. "I wasn't smiling at him. I was smiling at his sister. Um… have you eaten yet?"

She knew it wasn't the best question, but she didn't know what else to say.

Dominic put one arm around her waist and reached under her shirt to touch her chest. "No, I haven't eaten. Why didn't you charge your phone? I was in a good mood and wanted to take you out."

Her heart raced. "I'll have Sylvia get you something to eat."

Dominic scooped her up and tossed her onto the bed with a playful grin. "Are you worried I'll be too hungry to enjoy myself? You're overthinking it."

As he leaned over her, Bella's face turned red. She put her hands on his chest, feeling the heat. He pinned her hands above her head, looking at her closely. "How many times have we done this, and you're still blushing? Why do you blush so much?"

When he got close, Bella held her breath and closed her eyes. When the kiss didn't come, she opened her eyes and saw him smiling playfully. Embarrassed, she watched as he lifted her nightgown and buried his face in her chest.
