Chapter 141

โ€œWhere did I confront you? I was clearly just concerned about you, Bryson!โ€

Bryson: Ophelia slowly made her way upstairs. Suddenly, I was called to a stop, โ€œWaitโ€”โ€

โ€œIs there anything else?โ€ She stood on the steps and lazily turned her head back.

โ€œI listened to you and took away the sachet, but there was no change at all.โ€ He had a look on his face as if he were looking at a fraud.

Ophelia rolled her eyes in silence and said, โ€œHow long have you been using that sachet? Youโ€™ve only taken it off for two days, and you expect to see obvious results? What are you thinking?โ€

Bryson: Damn, if he talked to her again next time, he would be a pig!!

In the evening, Opheliaโ€™s condition was not very good, as the tomb-sweeping event during the day had stirred up her sad memories. Her mood had not been very high since she returned. Before going to bed, she sat unhappily in a chair on the balcony, sitting sideways with her legs resting on the armrest, gently swaying them. The rhythm seemed to carry a hint of melancholy.

Chapter 141

The calm footsteps approached, and Winford walked over.

โ€œHoneyโ€ฆ ah.โ€ Before she finished speaking, she let out a soft gasp, as she was lifted up by Winford.

โ€œFeeling down?โ€ A deep voice from above asked.

โ€œNo,โ€ she said softly, wrapping her arms around his neck and resting her head on his chest. Winford did not ask any further and carried her to the bed.

โ€œSleep.โ€

Ophelia felt that Winford was particularly patient and gentle today. She slowly nestled into his arms, found her familiar spot, rubbed her head against his chest, and then closed her eyes.

Then I simply couldnโ€™t sleep. She unconsciously rolled out of his embrace, quietly turned back, and saw that he seemed to be asleep and was not disturbed. Then she quietly rolled back. She was really bored and couldnโ€™t help but roll over again.

When I was thinking about rolling for the third time, I was suddenly pressed down by a strong hand. She was startled and looked up, right into the manโ€™s dark eyes.

โ€œCouldnโ€™t sleep?โ€

She said softly, a bit guiltily, โ€œI didnโ€™t want to sleepโ€ฆโ€

The slightly calloused hand gently caressed her delicate ear and cheek, and the manโ€™s eyes were so dark that it was almost unbelievable, resembling a dangerous beast that had just awakened from slumber.

โ€œDonโ€™t want to sleep? How about the reward you promised Lia during the day? Letโ€™s give it to her now,โ€ he gently coaxed.

Opheliaโ€™s eyes lit up, and without thinking, she said, โ€œSure!โ€

Thenโ€ฆ

โ€œCheater!!!โ€

The sun hung high in the sky, and Ophelia, who had just woken up, let out a cry of sorrow and indignation. With a โ€œclick,โ€ the door opened, and the man walked in with steady steps.

โ€œDid you wake up?โ€ Ophelia had not yet reacted when a shadow fell before her, and Winfordโ€™s tall and upright figure stood at the foot of the bed. He did not know when it had started, but he was already dressed neatly. At the moment he bent down, he unfastened the two buttons of his collar, and one could vaguely see his well-defined chest muscles.

Ophelia, feeling frustrated, didnโ€™t want to pay attention to him. She turned her head and buried her face in the blanket, saying, โ€œYou lied to meโ€ฆโ€ With a hoarse voice, filled with grievance, the tone was full of accusation.

โ€œHow did I deceive you?โ€ Winford said without changing his expression.

She angrily turned her head and said, โ€œYou clearly said it was a rewardโ€ฆ!โ€

With a faint smile flowing in his dark eyes, Winford said calmly, โ€œDoes Lia not like this reward?โ€ His gaze was like a substance, rolling over something unknown, making her skin feel hot. Her little face immediately turned bright red, and she panted, unable to say a word.

โ€œUm? Did you like it or not?โ€ He leaned in closer, his strong arms bracing against her sides, insisting that she give him an answer. The whole person was enveloped by his breath, and it seemed that the air available for breathing was almost squeezed out. Ophelia was forced to curl up further into the blanket, with the small part of her side face that was exposed turning as red as blood.

She didnโ€™t know what was going on. When she had just been reborn, she had been as proactive as she could be and as generous as she could be, never feeling so ashamed and angry like this before. But it was unclear when it started; the man seemed like a disguised beast, slowly revealing his fierce fangs. The power had unknowingly shifted into his hands, leaving her feeling helpless and toyed withโ€ฆ.
