“Xander! Xander!” Bessie tried hard to hold him back, but Xander didn’t even look. Instead, she accidentally fell off the bed! The anesthesia on her leg had long worn off, and she immediately screamed.

Ophelia stood to the side, looking down at Bessie from a higher position, with no intention of helping. Even Bessie’s misery made her extremely happy. Her lips even curved upward, and her voice was gentle: “How are you feeling? Are you okay?”

Suddenly, footsteps were heard again at the ward’s entrance. She raised her head dazedly and saw Xander coming back! Her eyes suddenly burst with a bright light. Disregarding the pain, she crawled clumsily towards him. “Xander, Xander… I knew you wouldn’t leave me alone!!”

“I was in so much pain! Xander, help me up…”

Xander, however, stood there with no intention of helping her. His eyes were icy, and he stared at her with scrutiny. “Being pure and virtuous was a lie, just like being innocent and kind. And what about that incident five years ago? When I was bitten by an unknown snake on the set, on the verge of death, was it really you who sent me the medicine?”

Bessie’s face suddenly changed.

“When, of course it was me! It was me who saved your life, Xander. Are you doubting me, Xander?”

Bessie knew very well that Xander liked her and cared for her because of this life-saving favor! Therefore, the truth of this matter absolutely could not be revealed! But when she was calculating every possible way out, she forgot that Xander, at that time, had already discovered her true identity and no longer trusted her!

“Bessie, I will give you one more chance. If you don’t tell the truth again, I don’t mind sending you to jail!”

Bessie suddenly looked up and immediately met the man’s icy cold expression. She instantly realized she had no room for excuses. Sending her to jail. Xander really could do it! This man was loyal and fell in love with her because of her “life-saving grace.” He chose her over the Whitaker family and, upon learning the truth, instantly turned heartless and abandoned her like a worn-out shoe.

“Tell me, who gave me that medicine?!”

“I…” Bessie’s face paled, her voice trembling, and after a moment, she said, “It was Isabelle, who collected that medicine for you!”

She lowered her head, with hatred and malice surging in her eyes, and a satisfied smile curled up at the corner of her lips.
